Great game comming up on Saturday.. No broadcast .. Thanks WAFL :(
No problems though as will increase the gate at Joondalup on what looks like a great day for footy. :)

Andrew Strijk is playing his 150th for WP and sure the team will put in a huge effort to see him have a win. Hopefully a BIG WP crowd will turn up for this legends life membership game. Rassa is up for his 50th game as well.

Team looks unchanged from last week. Glad to see Chris got over that ankle injury.
Jordon Jones still out for a few weeks with the Hammy and Mitch out with broken ankle

WEST PERTH v PERTH

Kody Manning looms as Perth’s target as West Perth seeks to build momentum in the clash at HBF Arena.
Manning has been outstanding in the Falcons’ opening matches, proving the game is still about efficiency not quantity. Not only has Manning’s ground work been important but
he has popped up as a goalkicker in 2015 and that will be a facet the Demons have to counter if they are to claim a breakthrough win.
Shane Nelson’s ability to bring teammates into the game with handball, Andrew Strijk’s
clearance kicking and Jay van Berlo’s defensive pressure will also be important to the Falcons’ cause.

There has been a lot of gloom over Perth but the final quarter
of the 10-point loss to South Fremantle last week will have provided considerable confidence to Earl Spalding’s men.
Aidan Tropiano was again busy for the Demons, highlighting the success of his move from
East Fremantle last year, Dene White is providing leadership and former Swan Brett Wolfenden is settling into his new surroundings.
Laine Rasmussen is in line to play his 50th match for the Falcons.

Line up for the Falcons this week.

B L Tedesco N Rodda D Rohde

HF A Strijk M Fowler R Kerr

Cheers for the post CARDY
I have to be happy with my favorite player getting a rap!! - KODY MANNING
Also a journo finally noting that high stats aren't always the criteria for a player doing well in a game and/or for a team
A little feared about the fact we have another milestone game though .......
BUT a big congrats to 'Laine Rasmussen' another in and under player'

Perth are not going to be a push over by any means - they are showing they have the will to take it to whomever is on the park and as it was for us last week - well have to be up to the games requirement to take the points again this week.

Go Falcons - Such a piss of though that this game has no coverage whatsoever.....
I feel for the country fans, the elderly or infirm
Guess its just following stats on the WAFL site and good luck with that one :)

Thanks Growler.. I put the preview up as its Strikers 150 and only for the reason.
The way this site has gone over the last couple of weeks it is becoming a waste of space when it comes down to WAFL FOOTY. :(

Speaking of the media which doesnt seem to be a priority to the WAFL/WAFC it is bloody shocking. Dont know what happened to 990? but definately a need for an improved coverage. ABC in on it but AFL will be their priority and that is fair enough.
Lots of people who cannot attend games are missing out..
I noticed last night the WAFL official site has been CUT back big time.

www.wafl.com.au/

Lots of features have gone including Live scores where you could get a ball by ball scoreline on the net in all grades etc.
Hopefully it is a temorary thing but cant understand it.. Maybe it is a cost cutting measure?

Bit by bit our comp is being erroded by the WAFC who are doing their best to degrade our comp. The games will be great for those that attend but the WAFL does need more exposure including promoting games and getting people along.
At least Channel 9 is doing their bit with ads. Havent seen one this week? Will have a talk about it with Brett.

Looking forward to attending the game on Saturday it will be a good old fashioned WAFL game between 2 G7 clubs.

I'm posting this here as the lockout happened at Joondy
Mighty big of the WAFL and there 'Master' Channel 7 to allow this ..
Am I wrong or does this read like Channel 7 is now controlling the WAFL? (as has been written about and feared)

Rival TV networks given all-clear from WAFC and Seven to cover WAFL games
GLEN QUARTERMAIN PERTHNOW APRIL 02, 2015 12:53PM

THE West Australian Football Commission and Channel Seven have reversed a decision to ban rival networks from covering WAFL games.

Ongoing TV wars between Channel Seven, the official WAFL broadcaster, and rival networks reached boiling point last Saturday when Nine, 10 and ABC cameras were locked out chasing vision of Fremantle’s Michael Barlow and Paul Duffield among 15 Dockers in Peel’s line up.

WAFC chief executive Gary Walton said clubs should have known of the match-day blackout for all TV networks other than Seven.

But Peel Thunder president John Ditchburn led a revolt, claiming they were never told of the ban.

Some WAFL clubs and the rival networks believed the ban was petty and only hurt the WAFL competition, which was in desperate need of coverage.

“The West Australian Football League is committed to ensuring that all media have ongoing access to cover and promote the competition for our clubs and their supporters,” a release from the WAFC said on Thursday.

“With this in mind, we are grateful that the 7 Network has agreed that non-rights holders can access non-broadcast WAFL venues on a conditional basis for the next 12 rounds so that the competition can continue to be promoted by all news networks.”

Thanks for the input Growler. Yes that is interesting..I noticed on Frizz preview of round 3 (which didnt really do anything for me) included at the 1:57 mark they showed footage from the WP v Peel game?
Wonder where they got that from? possibly the Dockers tape recording?

Michael Pratt Reserves coach

Getting back to the club I did a bit of research on Michael Pratt the new coach of our reserves as like a bit of background on coaches.
Seems he likes fishing looking at his FB page... Now thats a good start.
Came from North beach with some big shoes to fill in being Paul Sanzone but looking at last weeks game got it right. . Looking at a good season in the Ressies with a great lineup and guys trying to go up that level IF a spot becomes available.

Hope you dont mind me putting this pic up Michael but NICE CATCH

Good to see the WAFL online site is back to normal.. Must of been doing some upgrades?
So live scores back etc etc. :)

www.wafl.com.au/

Have got the Reserves team up now and the 3 players who went down last weeks still there as can also be seen by the League extended selection list.
Chooky had a shocking game last week and could of been dropped to Ressies but I think with the Andrews out we had to keep him as another tall option in the forward line. Lets hope he has a good one this weeks and kicks a couple...

We certainly have plenty of depth at the moment and our Reserves will be a hard side to beat. Worth turning up to watch them play. This list is not exhaustive as a couple from the League selections will come back.
I see Chris Yarran missed out and Braydon Antonio is missing from the list who I considered BOG for the ressies in last weeks match. Hope it isnt because of that dreaded Blister. :(
So we have Trent Manzone who had 24 possessions and kicked 2 goals still playing ressies as well. Crispy and Razor played ok Crispy kicked 3 goals and Razor had 21 disposals so not a bad effort. Can see Tim Sutherland coming back in the ruck or forward. Mike Ashfield took on most of the Ruck work last week against Craig Mollar(Peel) who won most of the ruck. and did well in general play as well.
Corey Chalmers with 23 Disposals and a goal had a good game. Lynch busted his guts as usual and had a serviceable game unfortunately he is down the queue a bit for league selection at this stage IMO even though he is on the extended league list.
Players selected for the league were:

In C Chalmers, A Lynch, T Sutherland, B Wilhelm,

As I said we have a GOOD problem at WPFC with our depth and players in the reserves who would most probably get a run in league at other clubs unfortunately for them there are only so many we can pick for the league. Keep working hard and IT WILL HAPPEN.
The WP Selectors have a good problem albeit disappointing for some of the players in the reserves. I suggest they be proud to run on in the Red AND Blue at any level.

Reserves

M Ashfield, R Bartholomew, M Crisp, B Denysiuk, M Douglas, B Fotheringham, C Franklin, K Fullgrabe, M Geraghty, J Gray, J Kirwen, T Manzone, B Mcgillivray, S Money, T Moulton, D Munns, B O'Regan, C Papertalk, S Rotham, Z Saunders, W Shea, B Walton, H Yarran, C Yarran,

COLTS

All the best to our Colts side. Hopefully they can make it 2 in a row against a good Perth side who had a 6 goal win over Sth Freo last week.. We are above them on the ladder by percentage so lets stay in that top 5.. Big ask but possible :cheer:

A Allen, M Antonio, L Baker, A Charlie, K Coleman, R Dolman, Z Guadagnin, E Hills, C Hinchliffe, K Hindmarsh, J Horgan, E Larmett, C Lynch, T Manners, N Marinovich, J Moore, B Mountford, S Nelson, T O'Brien, M Peirce, G Popzeleff, D Robertson, J Rotham, T Smith, J Turner, M Walley, B Zanon,

A good day for the club today except for the LETHARGIC effort by the reserves. :(
Had something on tonight but will give my thoughts tomorrow..
It will be the last one from me as I dont like talking to myself. (Bit like last year hey Growler :) ) Speaking of a lethargic Reserves game the same applies to the WP supporters who dont really bother posting on here. It is all about feedback and comments. Always plenty to say at the ground especially when it comes to Umpires..

Highlight of the day was ANTONIO, Mitchell 7 goals in the Colts which was incredible and great team effort to come from behind.

Braydon Antonio who I felt was BOG last week was MIA in reserves game today because he had a appendix operation.. Apparently he played with the problem last week but went out and Busted his guts (so to speak)...

Other news for the Keitel people from The President... Decision was supposed to me made by Thursday midday and they put it off for another week.. Brett not happy but can understand that as it is all bullshit. The young guy should be able to make his own mind up as turned 19 and no contract but we have people like QC Tom Percy whos shit doesnt stink making it hard for everyone concerned... Then we have a WAFC who will bow and kiss EPFC feet because they are incompetent and incapable of making a decision...and favour the alignment sides.

Anyway full round up tomorrow I hope.. Happy Easter to all WAFL supporters

Great win by the boys, Lourey is a good get with his 6 goals and glad to see Chooky fought hard to have a great 2nd half, if only you could hold onto 75% of your marks mate !!!
