The 7 Network have decided Not to broadcast ANY West Perth games

What no 2.30 am matches on a Sunday morning!!!!!!!!! Obviously Round 4, 7,17, 20 and 22 fixtures don't matter.

I would expect a crowd of at least 15,000 at Rushton Park for the July 26 Peel vs Swans. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS fixturing. Complete an UTTER CONTEMPT shown by the WAFC to the players, support staff and members and supporters involved.

Now now Growler Gary Walton, Frfank Cooper always make decisions that are best for WA footy. Who gives a stuff about West Perth? How dare they do things to ensure that they remain financially viable. I repeat: who gives a stuff about West Perth?
What's $200,000 worth of sponsorship to a non-aligned WAFL club? Insignificant, Inconsequential, irrelevant?

I mean if you were supposedly going to start the WAFL competition with a 'blockbuster' and have the West Coast Eagles heavily publicise the match to its members why wouldn't you start with the Eagles' reserves team play the Dockers' reserves team?

This bastardry begs one question - what would happen if the Cardies did actually cede to the WAFC/Channel Eagles edict ????
Still no broadcast or would everything just be chucked into the air once more ???

So the WAFC will support it's C.O.O , a sacked Ground manager who was caught out basically scalping tickets for his own benefit , but cannot do the same for one of it's foundation clubs ????

Channel 7 are hypocrites as the last two seasons the ABC have telecast East Perth Games with channel 7 logos on the back of their jumpers.

Never thought I'd hear myself saying this as a SD man but geez I hope West Perth finish top 2 so they have to play a minimum of 2 finals. Also begs the question that Ch9 should now have the right to telecast WP home games if they choose as the other mob have chosen to refuse to telecast their games. I implore Ch 9 to take this opportunity and really get behind the club they have chosen to sponsor! If WP do get home finals this year they'd be well within their rights to keep Ch7 off their premises...fcuk em!!

A telecast schedule that clearly favours the clubs aligned with the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers.

Swans get 5 games with only 1 home game. Channel 7 too tight to pay for petrol to get to Bassendean?

Will Channel 7 be removed off the East Perth jumpers this year? Conflict of interest why should East Perth get more money from Channel 7 when Channel 7 now have the broadcasting rights to the whole league and should be demonstrating non-biased views.

For the 7 true WAFL clubs left in the league, clubs must work their backsides off this year to get more people through the gates because the WAFC and Channel 7 have done them no favours.

Could even be bought up with the ACCC... Maybe WPFC should approach them re Fair Trading..

Of course of course i agree. I HATE ( a word i very rarely use ) the way "sport" in general is going. Let me explain.
For diehard FOOTBALL followers like us ( WAFL or VFL in years gone by) we were catered for as we were thier TARGET audience.
Now logically why they gunna target lets say 20,000 WAFL supporters when in reality they want the 500,000 supporters that follow THE PRODUCT that is AFL ( more specifically here Eags or Dockers).
Just to put it plainy to explain my point its all about Nic Natanui, THE PRODUCT, big, black , hairstyle, and at this stage an average athletic footballer. A champ for us diehards like say Glass, appeals to no one except us. So who do the marketers flock too?.... the footballer or the product? ( a retorical question).
Thats the cold hard truth
