OK OK Bit slack this week with my preview but after a couple of Bourbons though I would have to give some accolades to the guys and a Review of my thoughts. It would be wrong of me not to.

Heres the stats and my comments on MY OWN OPINION after that

League Stats

My first accolade goes to Luke Meadows.. A SD player heading for goal and easy shot. In pursuit early Chris Keunen who is not that fast but making a effort. Behind him Luke Meadows who passed Chris and caught the SD player just as he was about to kick and no result. It is something that will stick in my mind for a long time and can still picture it..

It shows we have some great players comming through and we need that leg speed. Shannon is another and a couple of others including McPhee,Johnson,King,McNamara, Mitch VB,Embley and Money,Batterham,Antonio..and the list goes on

Hunty won a great battle and did his job. Held Geappen until in the end Geappen became frustrated and lost control.

Blackie 44 possessions and loved his goal from a long way out early.

Nelson - gets run down but he had 44 Disposals as well and thats 44 disposals for our club. I suggest others get off his back

Teddy solid and is now at the top of his form. When he attacks the ball he puts in 100% and is EFFECTIVE

Rohan Kerr is class and we are lucky to have him in the side.. Incredible worker

VB (Jay) silent achiever but another class player who works his guts out and provides a steadier for the younger guys. Been there and done that

Sad to hear Stiker out for the rest of the season and Availability next year in contention... He is joining the Fire Brigade from what I hear.. Now that brings back memories of two other players who did the same. Extensive training course and hours of duty prevent them from attending training the other players who joined the WAFB
Clayton Lasscock and Phil Smith. Both played a lot of games but were not regular. At the time boy players were vital to our side but they must consider a life after Footy and WAFL players must look at their future. All the best Striker and good to see you Running for the side today.. You will be sorely missed

GOALS: 3 K.Shannon, 2 A.Tsalikis, L.Rasmussen, 1 R.Kerr, B.Antonio, S.Nelson, S.Martin, A.Black, R.Bartholomew, M.Guadagnin
BEST: S.Nelson, A.Black, R.Kerr, L.Tedesco, D.Hunt

Possible injury Chris Keunen came off limping badly.. Ankle??

Reserves Stats

GOALS: 3 C.Chalmers, 2 D.Rohde, J.Kirwen, 1 J.Batterham, S.Marusic, S.Money, S.Potente, M.Mcphee, A.Lynch, M.Geraghty, M.Johnson
BEST: A.Lynch, C.Chalmers, B.Mcnamara, S.Money, J.Embley

The Reserves had huge win and the credit must go to Paul Sanzone the coach. The guy just knows when to make the changes. His team listens to him and reacts.
I joked to Paul when I asked him if he had put an application in to SF or Perth and he replie no.. Those 2 clubs would be getting a coach that can get results even from a Reserves side. Lets not forget Bill came from Subi Reserves. They are looking at Armstrong from a colts side so they cuuldnt go past him. A case of cant see the Forest through the tree's... I am glad he is staying with the club as he could be a future League coach and just good to have his Football brain around.

His unit whilst not the best in the league is showing team work and listening to the coach pays its rewards. I still cannot get over their Tackling and their ability to prevent other teams playing THEIR game.

I dropped a few names up top but others like Lynchy, Rhode,Murisic, Branch (born leader who is out injured with a shoulder but always leads by example) and a few others are capable of being WP players of the future.
They are learning HUGE skills and experience by the Paul and learning that a ordinary team will win every time if they play as a team.

I was am seeing a player Tamati Young (Kiwi)learn with every game and hold his spot in the Reserves. He has the build and once he gets these Aussie rules skills sorted out could surprise...

We have a silent achiever in our Reserves Ruck who has been thrown in at the deep end due to Seva being elevated and with 30 HO today and from what I have seen he is learning every week in the RUCK... The guy gets the good ball out and is doing a good job..Well done to SUTHERLAND, Timothy

Colts

How unlucky are they.. Draw last week and lost by 5 points today.. Would of been in the 4 if they won both. Thats footy though.
Great effort and with 4 games to go still have a chance of making the 4. Colts wide open. EF game will be vital. Sure Craig Thomas (coach) will have them ready for that and lets remember they lost key players this year so going through a re building stage but not a bad effor against top placed Reserves side that has been dominent.

STATS COLTS Couple big stats amongst these guys. Have Seen Munns play reserves and he impressed.

GOALS: 2 M.Antonio, N.Alexandre, T.Moulton, A.Smith, 1 D.Robertson, C.Hinchcliffe, S.Rotham
BEST: A.Smith, M.Peirce, M.Ashfield, C.Hinchcliffe, D.Munns

So what do you think of that summing up GROWLER B)

Good summary Cardy. Thanks for the imput..Heard the senior side played like last years team yesterday.Unfortunately they have not been able to replicate that form consistantly this season.Injuries have provided opportunities to some young boys & they appear to be grasping their chance with relish.Good for them & good the Club and supporters can witness the future of West Perth.Pleased to see the Reserves are still performing despite players being promoted to the Seniors to cover injuries & i hope they continue in their push for a finals berth. East Freo this week looms as a big game! The Colts have been stiff last couple of games & their form overall must be pleasing to the Club & supporters.Hope the boys in all grades continue to finish the season strongly. Go West!!!

Thanks VF. Re injuries good to have Guady back playing well. Big outs in
Kody and Striker. Batters must be due back soon. Steve Potente had a quiet run yesterday in the Ressies and I notice he had his Knee well iced up after the game.
Bit worried about Chris as he was limping badly when he came off. Hopefully nothing major. Branchy was out in the Ressies with a shoulder injury but sure he will be back next week??- this guy leads from the front so will be handy v EF

It was pleasant going home yesterday with the results from our side.
I must admit I have a bit of a sore head today

Looking forward to the EF game ,Followed by Peel at Bendigo,Cla at the showgrounds and then Perth (Lathlain) to finish the season off. If we played like yesterday cant see why we couldnt win those games.

Will have a bonus if the Reserves play Finals and I wont be missing them wherever they play. Pretty sure they dont get home finals they play at another game to make it a double header. If a league side is in a final along with theiri reserves they usually double them up to make it easy for support staff but we will see

Pretty telling there on those photos Cardy that many of them showed a West Perth player disposing of the ball without a Swans player to be seen anywhere. It often appeared there was double the amount of WP players on the ground but that is a sure sign that your team were working and running lot harder.
Great debut by Luke Meadows as well, think you've got a good one there.

Yes noticed that mate re SD not in the picture. Noticed Tony Notte I think it was with the beard who was in a lot of the play. Didnt look at the stats but must of had a bit of the ball as he was always around . Hunt put Geappen out of he contest which put him out of the game.

Did a quick grab of a couple of things off the WAFL online.

I see we have the ABC game this week. Weather looks good so hopefully we will have a big turn out B)

Grabbed the reports which are pretty heavy this week but most will be fobbed off.
Was listening to the 91.3 game otw home down the FWY.. The commentators went off a bit on ALEX SILVAGNI Punch on Tropiano.. They couldnt believe he would of been so careless and reckoned 1-2 weeks for sure. Considering he is a Dockers player and ready to come back it will be interesting to see How the Tribunal approaches it. If it is dismissed or reprimand it will be shown they favour AFL players. :( But whats new????

Also see in Milestones Jordon Jones up for 100 games. Great achievement by Jonesy and has been a bit part of the team over those games.
