ROUND 15 v SWANS
NAIDOC Round at HBF Arena will kick off with pre-match entertainment including Welcome to Country, indigenous dancers and smoking ceremony.
Bring the kids along and they can enjoy the Kids Zone complete with interactive footy activities and face painting from 1pm.
Stay after the League match to watch the Djinda Falcons - our indigenous youth team - as they play their first match under lights.

The League and Djinda Falcons will both wear special Guernseys featuring Aboriginal artwork by local artist Hellena Stokes.
Djinda is the Noongar word for "stars" and this program seeks to help Aboriginal youths become stars on and off the field.
The design incorporates a series of stars, representing the 343 games Djinda Falcons Patron, Bill Dempsey, played for West Perth.

Replica Guernseys can be pre-ordered (adult sizing S through 2XL / youth sizing 6 through 12)
by contacting Diane on 9300 3611 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Looking forward to the traditional Garlic Munchers V Bombo Valley Boys clash...considering most of my family are Swans supporters, these games bring out a bit of rivalry in our family as they gave me the shits after we lost the round 6 clash!

Anyway the boys need to bring home the goods for me...please!

I think we can do it this time round, we have some damaging forwards with the big timber in Martin, Rhoda, and Adams also, throw in some smalls and our forward line is OK.

Our back line is good when they get yelled at by Bill.

Being Naidoc thought I would throw this on here as it shows the Problems the Aboriginal players had in the early days. It is a great story and an eye opener as to what actually went on. Worth a read..

Trevor Ruddell recounts the remarkable, largely forgotten story of pioneer indigenous footballer Albert "Pompey" Austin.

In his 2011 book Legends: The AFL Indigenous Team of the Century, author Sean Gorman noted that singling out a person as the indigenous pioneer of the game is misleading. He argues (rightly) that all Aborigines who made it to football’s highest levels before the 1980s, such as Doug Nicholls, Ted Jackson, Norm McDonald, Polly Farmer and Syd Jackson, may genuinely be regarded as indigenous football pioneers because they largely had to blaze their own paths. But who were the game’s early indigenous pioneers?
