Time to start this weeks blurb I think ;)

Last weeks romp should by all accounts create a manner of confidence that should give our WP players the opportunity to build its % base - me hopes

My personal observation: I for one see much loyalty and effort applied by the Peel players clinging to the remnants of their Club jumper this year and give credit where its due for them to weekly brave the onslaught of doubters and the inherent difficulties this alignment has imposed on them and many of their reduced but avid supporters

That aside I am looking forward immensely to the game this week - I would like to see a measure of consistent form - experimentation and a desire to open the field a little instead of hugging the same dammed corridor which is so apparently easily to read ... bring it on :woohoo: :woohoo:

Well I was thinking it was going to be an easy win against Peel and that kept me comfortable if we had of lost against EP.. After seeing the challenge and fright they put up Swans I have changed my mind ( a little bit) Why a little bit because Peel are far from consistent and after a close one or a win they LOSE....

Now your experimentation thought.. Yes a agree we do stick to the same match plan and it annoys me as it makes it easy for an Intelligent coach to put a match plan in place to beat us EG SF (Hazelby) Not so EP (Dawson)..

Now I must pull up again and really cant see us changing it to much as it could cause problems and it certainly worked against EP where they didnt kick a goal in the 2nd half and we buried them.

I am really finding it hard come up with a change. Ok Frank Stockley should be in the league and I feel was a bit unlucky because of the Weather and having a small side on proved handy he didnt get picked. Not his fault or the selection committees on that call.. And it worked.
Worried about Chris being on his own with a couple of bigs who are there to help out but not specialist Rucks. Frank is (53 HO last week).

On any give day we can beat any team and not consistant but arent all the WAFL teams in that boat? e.g SF..EF Derby = Thrashed EF, CLA = CLOSE, WP = WIN, EF next Derby= THRASHED

Good topic Growler.. Food for thought.. Will be interesting to see what others think.. Percy was on 91.3 today and gave his reasons we won and he could of been right... To get thru the AFL shit move the pointer up to the 6 minute mark on the podcast

I agree also that our rucks area needs the back up and one that is blooded to the league
I consideration of this Frank seems the right choice to place into the forward line structure as a big/tall man, this then would assist him in coming to grips with the increased speed and requirement of the league leading into the finals - of course he could then as I often see in the AFL, rotate into the rucks with Kuenen then rested or placed into the forward line... seems like a certainty to trail at the very least?
Our Captain is still a few weeks away from his best and his influence on the game at that stage will be needed me thinks - at this time he's part of the 'running numbers' without massive effect on the actual game besides his steadying verbal influence on the ground and in the huddles - something he should expand upon I also believe....the youngans need his advice, his leadership etc, not the older heads as I see the click at times forms away from the new bloods - our introduced players would benefit greatly from advice and buddying up - I have been told quite directly this is one area the club and its older players lack motivation for??
Any way - I am sure the sore bodies from last week are healing well and getting ready for another run in front of the faithful
Bring it on ... :woohoo: :woohoo:

Just a hypothetical finish...as 3rd and 4th not determined and getting ahead of myself but gives an idea how it would pan out

Right Growler.. Now if we beat Peel we should be almost locked into 2nd place

We did it in 2011 but got knocked out in straight sets. All else asides we will at least get 2 extra games for our money which is brilliant.

After this week we have Perth at Moora
East Freo at Joondalup
BYE
SD at Basso

Finals

V CLA at CLA if we lose this one
WP V ??? at Joondalup

If we win the CLA V WP game we will go straight through GF

Not a easy run which will really show where we are at. Perth,EF and SD will be hard games as these sides will be playing for the 4.

Then we will have a final v CLA at CLA to start the Finals round.

WP RESSIES

In with a good chance.. from memory though they would most probably play at a different venue than WP depending on ladder position. Annoying that this happens both on the same day but it is the way it works with the Ladder positions.

Pretty exciting stuff all round

Should be another 4 points in the bank for West Perth. They'll be comfortably in second position on the league ladder.

Pettigrew gone for the season, VanBerlo 4 weeks, f8ckn great, whats with Rasmussens cork, that will have seen him miss 7 weeks of footy if returning in 3 weeks. It will give Johno, Rodda and Frank an opportunity prior to finals I suppose.
