Rather than talk about what we haven't got - this is what we've got. In brackets after each name I've indicated WAFL league games played or where they come from.

Backs: Mitch Lague (ex.EP 13) Lennon Marlin (25) John Leiven (16)

Half Backs: Devin McFarlane (70) Ben Giobbi (ex-VFL) Kurtis Chester (19)

Center: Michael Sinclair (83) Clint Jones (124) Cody Leggett (32)

Half Forward: Matt Taylor (19) Brant Collegde (59) Mitch Browne (20)

Forward: Cody Ninyette (20) Marshall Jones (16) Callum Papertalk (8)

Followers: Chris Eyres (69) Corey Byrne (22) Corey Yeo (54)

Reserves: Richard Bourne (5), Brent Edmonds (51) Zareth Roe (6) Mitch Cox (ex-AFL).

Players who would go in if fit:

Sam Garstone (31) Spencer White (ex-AFL 15) Jared Bell (32) Simon Tunbridge (47) [These 4 fit and firing would improve our teams by 50%].

Others: Brad McPhail (16) Mitchell Henderson (15) Clayton Giblett (26) Laine Wilkins (55) Kristian Cary (19) Tarran Etto (20) Kasey Nicholas (2) Sam Perkusich (7) Cal Walley (20) Lachie Dennis (21)
Anton Scotney (14) Shaun Smith (2) Blake Jonston (11) Jayden Johnstone (3) Andries Mercer (2) Jake Schleicher (ex-EF 16) Ben Power (20) Redmond Dobson (ex-Subi) Daniel Horan (ex colt) Zach Hill (ex colt)
Joesph Ugle (ex colt) Luke Salamone (ex Claremont) Chris Leonard (ex colt) Michael Bennell (ex colt) Fraser Barns (ex EP colt) Blake Johnson (11) Clint Chivers (ex colt) Brodey Eades (ex colt) Brayden dos Santos (ex colt) James Corner (?) Corey Taylor (ex colt) Callum Marshall (ex Peel) Dakota Baldwin-Wright (ex colt) Dakota Baldwin-Wright (ex colt)

Hmmm. PD, I hope that you are not suggesting that will be anywhere near our best 22.
For starters, Ben Giobbi is not a tall key defender. He is, I believe, a tough inside mid in the mould of Tropo.
Surely Matt Taylor plays down back and I would like to see Brandt Colledge in a defensive role instead of trying to turn him into a key forward.
IMO Marsh Jones has to lift to new levels this year. He has potential but has not yet been convincing.
Papertalk??? Not for me thanks. Kurtis Chester, Mitch Browne, Mitch Henderson borderline at best.
Looking at those you left out, Ben Power, if fit, must be a back-up to Eyresy. Spencer White, if fit, must be FF. Giblett would add some height down back. Joseph Ugle should come in as another small forward. Any news on Collard??
Callum Marshall showed a bit last year and could develop and I'll be interested to see if players like Zareth Roe, Scotney, Burke, Johnson, Johnstone, Cary, Morisey etc can lift themselves to a new level.
I guess the jury is still out in regards to the new boys and what they bring to the team but hopefully there will be some good plusses amongst them....Yeo, Lague, Giobbi, Cox, Bourne etc
It is hard to see us climb much up the ladder but with all the new faces there should be some interest in how we stack up and how competitive we will be.
I think it unlikely that we will see Garstone, Tunbridge, even Jared Bell this year. Hope I'm wrong because, if fit, they would add quite a bit to the squad.

Smokey I like the look of Mitch Cox from what I've seen on YouTube. Also looks like a big bodied inside mid who can distribute the ball and can kick goals and is good overhead. Also good to see in Demon news yesterday that former Claremont and Melbourne backman Darren Kowal and former EP colts and Claremont league assistant Patrick Litherland have been appointed assistant coaches to Earl Spalding. That's probably the best coaching panel we have had for a long time.

What we’ve got.
I reckon our midfield is ok although it does lack quality depth and the problem is at centre bouncedowns and stoppages.
We dont have the ruckman to give them first use of the ball.
We have a fragile backline and a forward line that will be very reliant on the smalls kicking the bulk of the goals.

All in all what we have got I think will dish up much of the same as past years.

If Garstone and White are out for lengthy periods we will really struggle up forward.
As 30Plus says the crumbers will be our only hope. Ninyette, Bourne, Collard (if playing).
Midfield looks ok but not much back up for Jones, Byrne and Yeo.

Hard to put up much of an argument to that Cess.
I do think that Giobbi and Cox could add something to the midfield BUT, yes, they will have to work very hard at bouncedowns and stoppages. Huge challenge for Eyresy and Ben.
Certainly, we need White fit but I would have liked another tall up front who can kick 60+ goals. The smalls will need 40 goals each.
Still lacking height down back.
