sounded like a great game of footy and a great advertisement for the WAFL.....bar the umps, but hey it all swings in roundabouts and evens out during the year.....bar for the SD boys of course....cursed 24/7, 365 days of the year, apparently by their whistle blowing buddies.

Whatever is made of that mark or non mark, both clubs should be patted on the back for delivering some quality footy.....difficult to take on the chin in the circumstances, but Perth had their chances as did EF.....looks like Perth's height up front really highlighted EF dependence on Brown up back for some height and Young up back or in the ruck. Murray and McInness exposed this from all accounts with 6 goals between them......and once again Duffy shows how frustrating a footballer he can be 1.5.....gee and there's me thinking all those Perth like traits had been eradicated from his play since arriving at Moss St!! ;) ......

Don't like winning or losing in clouded circumstances.....good luck to you boys for the rest of the season and here's hoping you can keep up the intensity through out the season.....because that will be the true test if McMahon has truly turned this side around.

It certainly goes to show that you guys will be up and about this year. I hope you boys don't take any notice of the crap that Leedy wrote. I didn't see that particular incident, but footy is played over 120 minutes, not 30 seconds. The poor dear must have done his hard earned! All the best (well nearly all) and if they keep playing that way, it'll be no shame in losing to the PFC.

58, I don't buy into that old chestnut ! when the mistake is made 40m from the opposition goal with 20 odd seconds left on the clock, it has a massive impact on the "end result". I couldn't give a shit who won, let the players play, if the maggots were paying attention, the correct decision would have been made, which would have seen a Perth victory. Pitty you didn't see the incident as we would not be having this discussion !

I would call it 1-all after the umpiring fiasco last weekend at Basso mate!

If the picture of the mark in the yahoo match report link is paid, when clearly it looks as though the Perth player has at least 50% purchase, then yes 58S, a result can be determined by one decision. Thats not to say 100 other things through the game get you to that point, but that decision was the more than likely the game resulter.

Stop been so precious with your beloved Sharks, they got lucky today, Perth got lucky last week, someone else will next week.

Great to see great passion in the WAFL and Perth finally with a bit of bite, won't be marking down a 90% win chance win they come up against my team this year.

Did anyone catch the reserves game, Looks like Hadyn Busher is not far away, 14 touches 7 marks? Hug also played pretty good judging by the stats 26 tocuhes...and Deaves kicked 4.

Yes Deaves was very good, he has improved out of sight on last year.

Busher I believe is little way away, needs to build up his legs again after so long out. I think the club are saying about half way through the season.

Things can change of course.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

Perhaps Deaves or Arrangio could be given a chance up forward, Maybe being a bit harsh, but I thought Donovan had a bit of a disappointing game, maybe he needs a run in the ressies...I guess Tunbridge needs to be fit in somewhere as well.

Anyway Ressies are on top of the ladder which is a good sign that there is some depth at the club.

Did anyone stick around for the afer match presentations...how was the spirit of the players?...obviously disappointed, but I guess they just have to focus now on the East Perth game

Good to hear the Perth Demons are finally earning a bit of respect on the footy field but that has to happen over a full season and not 3 or 4 games. I still question the ability of the senior coach and that won't change but the club has thrown the kitchen sink behind this boy in terms of players it has recruited and the assistants he now has in the box with him are no doubt making a huge difference, not to mention the impact of the mentoring of the coach and player group by the CEO since he has been at the club. I think others who have come to the club in off field roles are having a bigger influence, rather than the senior coach suddenly turning things around.

58shark et al

It has always amused me that people get so agitated when a goal umpire makes a mistake. It may have had an impact on the result of the game or not. However, there is a complete lack of concern about the 10 + decisions or non-decisions that field umpires make which would have potentially meant a goal would be scored or not scored.

I didn't see the Perth/East Freo incident; however, I did see the incident in the Freo/Essendon game where Margetts fundamentally made a huge mistake by awarding a mark and then compounded the error exponentially by awarding a 50 metre penalty.

As an aside I wonder how many free kicks has received this season and again how many times has he been penalised!!!!

Demons 2013, the change rooms were dead quiet after the game which is expected after a loss like that. The general consensus was that we lost no fans yesterday from the way we played and fought out the game. Marty did say after the game at the awards that sometimes the decisions go your way like last week and sometimes they don't like this week but that's football. Also went on to say that to be 3-1 after 4 games was good and that now the focus is on East Perth in 10 days time :)
