It was the umps fault according to the pig pen.

Jees,

That was a pearler of a game, got to see Perth for the 1st time and they have no doubt improved and were stitched up by the maggots, particularly in the last qtr. EF are a good side but don't look as dominant as last year, I have only seen 1 game so a lot of footy to be played yet.

That play on decision with the Perth big man at the death was an example of the maggots lack of awareness, Lester-Smith was within 2 metres (practically standing next to him) which enabled him to smother the ball, he should have been pinged 50m and game won by Perth !

Great game though, glad I went along.

Yep agree wholeheartedly with that summation Leedy and for the 2nd week running the umps influenced the final crucial moments of a game, as a neutral at the game my first instinct was to jump off my chair and yell `50m` as Lester-Smith was clearly too close to be able to smother that even after the play on call, which in itself was dubious too. Perth up and about and will trouble most sides for sure. And what about the 2x overzealous frees EF got from the centre straight after Perth goals that then resulted in 2 x EF goals. The better side lost today IMO. No surprises who the umps were today, the same 3 maggots from SD v Perth last week!!

The better side I thought was EF...just actually. 5 point leaders at half time which EF completely dominated which easily should have been a 5 goal lead and maybe a bit too much for Perth to come back from.

2 over zealous goals my arse. Both were there because of some undicsipline Perth players.

Well done to Perth on a great game!!! Great crowd. Didn't even hear the siren it was that exciting.

Great game of football even though we were on the loosing side. IMO we won more fans than we lost today as we kept at it with one of the better teams in the WAFL.

Fraser McInnes had his best game for the club. I was calling for him to go back in the twos and others were saying he's close to a break out game. Well he definitely had a break out game today and hopefully now he can back it up. Well done Fraser :)

Bevan, Jacobs, Florio and White were all good and the Perth Boyle continued to impress.

Memory is a bit sketchy but I'm pretty sure the top 5 today were:

1. Julian Jacobs
2. Paul Bevan.
3. Fraser McInnes
4. Dene White
5. Michael Florio

If we are to take anything out of the game today I think it is that we will compete with most teams and we are not going to lay down and just take it.

Well Done Redlegs :)

I just read The West's online report of the match. Make of it what you will, I'll just say a picture paints a thousand words and that sometimes you're on the right side of luck and some times you're on the wrong side. au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/a/-/wafl...as-sharks-steal-win/

THAT'S FOOTY :)

It was a great game today and we can take lots of confidence from it as we are only going to get better.

I know he has a lot of critics (and I admit I was asking a few questions when he came back to the club), but for Dene White is a much better footballer now than when he took a rest.

He committed his body to the cause today in a way I am not sure I have seen previously. His disposal has improved out of sight.

I agree Jacobs was good although he made a couple of blunders.

Good to see Fraser take a few grabs and he had good day despite being held on to(physically that is) all day. The umpires need to protect good players.

The other bloke I thought was terrific today was Murray, his skills for a big man are really good and he kicked 4 to boot.

You are slowly earning respect DEES keep at it you can only get better.

I can't wait for Claremont and West Perth.

Now why am I not surprised that a SDFC supporter is grizzling about the umps causing a team to lose.....again  Mate you have become a dead set whinger.

58shark wrote: What a great game of footy, best this year they say. Bad luck Perth - it could easily have been EF behind when the siren rang - it was that sort of game. It certainly goes to show that you guys will be up and about this year. I hope you boys don't take any notice of the crap that Leedy wrote. I didn't see that particular incident, but footy is played over 120 minutes, not 30 seconds. The poor dear must have done his hard earned! All the best (well nearly all) and if they keep playing that way, it'll be no shame in losing to the PFC.

58, I don't buy into that old chestnut ! when the mistake is made 40m from the opposition goal with 20 odd seconds left on the clock, it has a massive impact on the "end result". I couldn't give a shit who won, let the players play, if the maggots were paying attention, the correct decision would have been made, which would have seen a Perth victory. Pitty you didn't see the incident as we would not be having this discussion !

Pigs arse, of course I'll argue the point. If you really think that one incident, one decision by the umps after 120 minutes of play will decide the result of the game, then it's pointless trying to discuss it with you. Anyway, it is simply your opinion...nothing more, nothing less. Don't forget, opinions are like a/holes...everyone's got one.

Well the Demons would not be learning respect from the like of you DF. It's only Souths and now you have completely skipped your next game against the Mighty Royals as if that will be a non contest and moved on to the Tigers & the Garlics.

Umpires are supposed to look after all players equally good or bad.
So the umpires cost the demons the game for not paying holding the man to Fraser. Ball bounced the wrong way etc: etc:;

From where I sat it was a enthralling game of football, but I would have to agree with the Rock. The sharks kept the Demons in the game with poor goal kicking , 4goals 6 in the 2nd Q , 1goal 6 in the 3 Q . 32 scoring shot 1 rushed to 24 shots 2 rushed for the demons. More possessions than the sharks but less in side 50 :woohoo:

Hey Kevin, 20s into a game is a shit load different to 20s left in a game, its 119m 40s in fact ! Again, I couldn't give a shit who won, the Perth supporters would be on here bagging the umps (and rightly so) if it wasn't for last week, they have resigned to being partial after giving it to the Swannies supporters.
