A win is a win. We are a work in progress and we still have a bit of that to achieve yet IMO.
Some pleasing stats today - tackles 52 to 36 and hit outs 40 to 25.
I liked Jack Poole’s game. He and Elijah Scoble worked well in defence. Will be interesting to see if Schelensog will play down back when he comes into the team or will Germo have something else in mind for him?
I agree we are not reaping the benefits of our inside 50s. We must tidy up that area up of our game.

Better to win a scrappy game like that than loose it.

I’d say Schelensog will come into the team for the East Perth game and play down back but might drift forward at times during the game.

Very happy and relieved to get the 4 points against a team with higher aspirations like us and in many ways are similar to us. They have a lot of young kids, a few experienced and season campaigners and relying on recruiting to improve and take the next step.

Our forwards should have done better in front of goals in particular Clarke and Quartermaine but they both probably had about 8 shots on goal which is a positive. Swans have the experience and height of Notte and I was impressed by No19 for them Luke Taylor who I am told is the younger brother of Sam.

Even battle in the midfield I thought which was how I expected but I think our backs were outstanding and a lot of credit has to go to the kids 18 year old Elijah Scoble who continues to impress and 20 year old Jack Poole who I thought was outstanding. I was also for the first time impressed with young Oscar Hine-Baston. Showed some real dash, excellent tackling and good ball use.

Another great game by Cory Byrne who I think is finally taking his game to the level we were waiting for. Having a few bigger bodies around has helped. Stubbs chimed in nicely with a couple of important goals.

Schlensog is ready and raring to go. Simpson was limping near the end of the game, hopefully he is ok.

Piss this bullshit music off for fuck sake. Totally disrespectful to all concerned, spectators, players and coaches. Worse than last week at Joondalup, at least they only played the doof doof after each WP goal and didn't have to listen to bullshit commentary while the doof doof was blaring. Umpires are being held up waiting for the music to stop. Total bullshit.
Get on your bike.

Happy to get the posts.
Yes we are a work in progress and will only improve.
Haven't studied the stat's but it seems like the Q and Clarke will work well together..
I agree blokes like Byrne, Clarke and Davis will benefit from the midfield additions.
I'll take 2 from 3.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

It would be a tough call, but the only player I can see making way for Schlensog is Chaplin. He was pretty good the first two weeks, but had a very quiet game v SD. If not Chaplin, then it would have to be Quartermaine if Schlensog plays forward. It's hard to see who would miss out if he goes back. I think Scoble has been very good. It may come down to Brogan-Henry or Poole missing, but I agree Poole was very good v SD and Brogan-Henry plays a different role to Schlensog. Still, it's good to have selection dilemmas.

Does anyone know what is happening with Riley Wills? Still appearing on the website, but hasn't played reserves and is not on the injury list.

Wills had shoulder surgery off season. I see him at training participating in light drills with the shoulder heavily strapped.

Points well made on the midfield group. Byrne and Regan Clarke in particular will become our most important players with the heavy lifting starting to be taken off their shoulders. im a big fan of Clarke in the role he’s playing. And on the defenders how long is Conner Sing out for? He was excellent in round 1 and hasn’t played since.

Just watching the replay.

I reckon it would be far superior if we could hear the crowd in the background - we can only hear the commentators voice which sounds weird with no background - No atmosphere. Strangely we can hear the music after a goal and up to the throw up so it can be done.

Re the music. I too hate it at Joondalup and at Optus Stadium - but as a one off for WAFL wonderland I reckon it's a go. At least we play it for both teams goals.

12 days off now before the stand alone Anzac Day clash again at 4pm. Should be aiming not only for the win but a crowd of 4000. EP will be spewing about their loss to Peel. They toweled them up in the pre season.

Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

The music is a part of the WAFL Wonderland promotion. Week 1 was at Joondalup, Week 2 I'm not sure where it was, possibly East Perth and week 3 was at Lathlain.

They're trying to promote the game to new fans and a younger demographic.
