Just what the country needs as this party will contest Senate seats around Australia. Just to quote Elvis Presley & Frank Sinatra: And now the end is near.... " Sharia Law will be a reality very soon.

If we can have a Shooters Party, a Sex Party, even a Party Party Party then I guess they have every right to have a religious based party just like the Christian Democrats but gotta admit..I'm looking forward to seeing their policies and exactly what they stand for.

Do you know anything about sharia law and how many places have it, I don't think so!

Also we now have a righter wing party that isn't an arm of the Jesuits but who complained about that!
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Well it certainly does not reflect well on the success of Multiculturalism in Australia. The policy of Multiculturalism is supposed to be about accepting difference, but at the same time, everybody mucking in and contributing to Australia.

It is not suppose to be about ethnic, linguistic, religious, or any other form of separatism. This is form of separatism, full stop. This is a part of the Muslim population saying, 'we want our own this and our own that'; what they are saying by forming this party is that they cannot fit fully into Australia; in other words, Australia must be changed for them.

I would remind people on here that France has a population of around 10 per cent which is Muslim. There is no Muslim party in France. Equally, there is no Urdu or Pakistani party in the UK.

This little fact would suggest that, in some ways, a part of Australia's Muslim community is actually more alienated than their counterparts living in the old continent. Now, on the face of it, such a trend in Australia should be of concern to the zealots whom support multiculturalism, but being multicultural zealots, they are, of course, incapable of critically questioning their ideology.

ArkRoyal: Exactly where does Rev. Fred Nile's party fit into the above? Also, could you please put the above into an historical context vis a vis the DLP?

Swan 42: I am a secularist along the lines of the traditional old left; I don't support Nile or the DLP; I have not and will not support any party which has a religious orientation. This is suppose to be as secular state, not a Muslim one, not a Jewish one, nor a Christian entity, a secular state.

AR...if we're all supposed to be one in the same how do you explain the Aboriginal Legal Service or Aboriginal Health Service or the Migrant centres or any of the other multitude of help groups/services/departments which are created specifically to assist minority groups at great expense to the taxpayer.

BC -- that was actually my point: that aspects of Multiculturalism have not worked as well as anticipated. The Aboriginal question is a totally different one to do with access and equity. If you have different life outcomes for the Aborigines compared to the rest of the population, certain policies are going to be delivered differently in relation to that group.
