Another broken promise from the Liberal National Federal Government. This time it is the paid parental leave - Abbott's signature policy. How many broken promises does that make now?

I certainly hope those he slammed the previous Government's 'broken promises' will be as vociferous and vitriolic towards T Abbott and his government.

Good quote, the ship is sinking so throw it overboard. It wasn't popular to most people. So that makes it a broken promise. Check Julia's record before firing more shots.

As much as it pains me I sort of hope Labor win the next Federal election just to see how they go without starting with a surplus as is normally left to them.
You reckon it is big now just wait until they triple it as per usual.
If people want the debt down then hard decisions need to be made. Labor never make those decisions they just waste, waste, waste.
But having said that Tony Abbott is struggling and the sooner they change leadership the better.

gotta agree mate that the Libs do need to make a change but who are they going to turn to? Turnbull is too far left for my liking, don't think the family Jules is up to it...no way Hockey, Morrison is too far right...bugger me...there's no-one left!!

Not going to enter into long debate, but I simply cannot believe that people are wanting the idiots that financially strangled our country back in power. For shites sake, how short are their memories? I really have to laugh when I hear Shortman critise the Libs about their handling of the economy...God spare me....Bill your damned idiots nearly bankrupted us. As for Bishop, Labour hasn't anyone with her qualities and we could do worse than her at the head of the country.

You have got to be joking 58S. J Bishop was held in such high esteem that she wasn't good enough to become Treasurer. She also apparently needs to be chaperoned to the climate change conference in South America. It speaks volumes of how much T Abbott trusts her and values her abilities. Not that T Abbott should have any doubts about her loyalty; one must be extremely loyal to be able to deputy to 4 leaders.

Unka2 nice try but you are being totally disingenuous. The question is whether has broken his election promises made prior to the election. The answer is an unqualified, unambiguous and unequivocal YES.
