Pretty sure Jadeja saves up all his good performances for Australia, kudos to the fella, I wish Agar was our Jadeja.

BH, hear what you are saying about quality bowlers of the past, but Smith has come up against some bowlers who will end their test careers high up on the fast bowling wickets tally.....Anderson and Broad in the UK, Rabada and Steyn in Aust and SA, Boult and Southee in NZ and pink ball tests of Adelaide, Bumrah and Shami in Aust...to me Greg Chappell during the 70's and WSC and Border in the 80s v WI are the 2 standouts for me.....averaging 50 + against that quality, would be high 60's even 70 in today's game.

Well done to young Murphy on debut, for every darkish cloud there is always a silver lining of some sort.

Freezin: just to remind people on Border,
batted 3 or 4 most of his career; made 50 on debut -78-79
double hundred in England-- highest test score
two scores of 150 or more in Pakistan in the same test
held us together in the WI
batted well in India during two series

Regarding Jadeja et al… seems like cricket is one of the few sports or games, in the world where it’s ok to cheat.  So does that mean it’s a just a game and not a sport???

Would of thought the physio / team doctor would of  been the only folk allowed to come on to the ground and administer any medicinal support of any sort to the players. By doing that, it makes it more legit and nullify's any conspiracy chat of dodgy antics.

after somehow conjuring a pretty good fightback , that last 2 hours is going to be horrible at the end
bloody valuable 50 from Axar in the situation

Both teams have had to bowl and bat on the same wicket.
India have outplayed us on the first two days.Lets hope for a day 3 fightback by the Aussies.

With India's number 9 not having too much trouble staying at the crease or scoring runs there are no excuses for our batsmen in the 2nd Innings. Simply have to dig in and set India a decent amount of runs to chase.

gtr: yep, asyou said, it is not a dodgy pitch if you can bat 135 overs, following the failure of the top order.

Gee I hope India continue to dish up bunsen burners for the rest of this series.
Viewing the Australian side attempting to bat (more like flail) against Jadeja & Ashwin is almost as funny as watching old Fawlty Towers episodes!

Nothing new for an Australian team to be belted in India but this is a different level. A spineless capitulation by the top and middle order. Unless Smith does something miraculous the game won't go until tomorrow. There has been so much talk about how much more relaxed and positive the team dynamic has been under McDonald. Easy for this to happen when the team is winning. Lets see how all that holds up in the wake of an innings flogging and possibly a few more to come. Even Labusagne for all his focus and intensity looks clueless against Jadeja and Ashwin. Time for Handscomb to catch the next plane home, he's just not test material. This horses for courses stuff is horseshit. Play your 6 best batsmen and Travis Head is miles better than Handscomb, Renshaw and Warner given his decline.
