no mate that isn't going to happen , they've had someone in the background for a while - don't know of too many coaches who've been shafted or offered little after winning consecutive major titles so there's someone else waiting in the wings quite frankly
We'll see who that is pretty shortly I reckon

Would of thought the embarrassment of Aust in SA would of stopped many a fan from supporting the Aust cricket team.....but it didn't.....people get all emotional initially, vent.....then move on....as will JL.....both the sandpaper gate and the JL saga were equally as embarrassing..... A series victory in Pakistan, might result in those disillusioned "never to return" fans jumping back on board sooner rather then later....but perhaps they want Aust to get hammered and say...."I told you so"

Not the first time a WA cricketing son has been sabotaged by some Aussie cricketers.....clearly remember sadly Kim Hughes got sabotaged by one DK Lillee and Rod "Bacchus" Marsh.....didn't stop folk then supporting the Aust team.
This is a totally different issue to the SA incident Freeze.  That was orchestrated by the onfield players and while it was a dirty act, no one was stabbed in the back.  CA had the chance to end the tenure as a professional organisation, but chose to whimp it out.  I’m getting old and grumpy, so there’s no chance I will follow the eastern states cricket association as I once did.

Comments that JL might find it hard to coach the old enemy may be true but it didn't stop Rod Marsh, who did a fine job resurrecting the pomms test team, I'm sure he was no soft touch with the players.

Coaching international teams or teams in national comps is a professional career, past allegeances mean little, JL is a complete professional who would always go 100% in what ever position he holds. He has a grown family so easier to deal with an international gig I would think.

Gee no pressure on this current player group in the upcoming series to perform in every match otherwise their beloved new NSW coach is going to cop a blow torch from most of the sports followers and media bar of course those NSW sycophants Conn, Lawson, Maxwell & co who were co-conspirators in this whole saga to get rid of a West Aussie in Langer from the coaching role for another of their NSW buddys in Bayliss who will mollycoddle the NSW boys as they want!

I did have to laugh at Mitchell Johnson's attack on Cummins & CA over the weekend but even funnier was seeing his online post to Conn and calling out his snitch from within CA that has been leaking all of the inside goss to these pariahs in the media that being Dovey!

Australia could cop an absolute flogging, but the New South Wankers will have all the excuses in the world.

Seems there is a consensus that Langer deserved more respect from the powers above for stepping in post sandpaper gate and single handedly  resurrecting Australia's toxic cricketing reputation......

So was Langer appointed at the time for his coaching nous?......or for his truth, loyalty and honesty traits?  Surely couldn't be for the former, as besides 3 hit & giggle trophies with the Scorchers, want success did WA have in red ball cricket under JL?

Is it fair to say JL was simply the right man for the job at the time, but he has now served his purpose, and it's time to move on in terms of the teams development?

Be interesting to see the reaction / comments of JL former team mates if another former team mate in  Gillespie gets the coaching gig.

Gillespie has pulled himself out of the race.  Wonder if he sees it as a poisoned challis?

Interesting though Gillespie didn't give the current players and CA a spray like what his other ex team mates did.....

Dizzy playing with that 200* straight bat Freeze!

Smart move too because the next coach (the NSW mafia want Bayliss) is going to have to pension out the likes of Warner, Smith, Khawaja, Starc, Hazlewood, Lyon, Boland etc who are all 31 or over and that could mean a year or 2 of lean results in the interim!

Very true mate.....can see Bayliss overseeing the phase out of his NSW comrades over the  next 2-3 years.....at 60 Bayliss no youngin either.....

Gillespie will be approaching 50....cherry ripe to lead the likes of Pucovski, Labuschagne, Wyllie, Connolly  Philippe, Head, Carder,  Sangha x 2, Richo, Cummins, Inglis, Green, Kellaway etc out of  the Aust cricketing doldrums.
