I know other coaches move around to different countries but I just cannot imagine JL coaching England. Not to say that he wouldn't do a better job than Silverwood but Langer is an intense guy who lives by his values. He bleeds green and gold and I'm not sure if he would be able to bring himself to be on the side of "The Auld enemy" I may be wrong but that's the sense I get from looking at the way he operates.
He may however accept a position as a new coach of the cricket team of the republic of Westralia...

After that media release from cricket Australia maybe it should have been the board thats gone not JL.
Didn’t answer a question
full of praise and admirations for the guy you just kicked out of your organisation after putting back on top of the mountain (would hate to think Warner or Smith could have been part of this player movement)
Over 200 um’s and are’s and I couldn’t listen anymore.
Pat Cummings given the captaincy under JL watch then gets the knives out

I wonder if JL keep his role as Aussie coach?  The eastern states Mexicans are gunning for him and the captain had a chance to endorse him as well, but didn’t do so.  The New South Wankers may have done England a favour….they’ve just got rid of their coach.  It’s not beyond the realms of possibilities that he could be in charge of the English team that takes back the ashes.

I have followed cricket since 1979 when I was eleven years old. In that time it has given me a lot of pleasure and some disappointent along the way.
This decision by Cricket Australia is the straw that broke the camels back for me. First they schedule a test match for Perth a week after Sydney when they knew it was a 14 day quaratine period.
Now this decision to get rid of thr person they turned to after the South African tour four years ago. Imagine if Swan Districts had got rid of John Todd after four years because the players didnt like the way he ooached. Or North Melbourne with Ron Barrasi.
Good bye cricket. It was fun, but no more for me.

I certainly understand how you feel sf4l.  I don’t think I will be able to follow and support them in the same manner as I have in the past.  There’s obviously a lot of back stabbers and Prima donnas in the team….including the captain.  A typical eastern states decision.  There could be a karma train in the form as the English cricket coach.

Would of thought the embarrassment of Aust in SA would of stopped many a fan from supporting the Aust cricket team.....but it didn't.....people get all emotional initially, vent.....then move on....as will JL.....both the sandpaper gate and the JL saga were equally as embarrassing..... A series victory in Pakistan, might result in those disillusioned "never to return" fans jumping back on board sooner rather then later....but perhaps they want Aust to get hammered and say...."I told you so"

Not the first time a WA cricketing son has been sabotaged by some Aussie cricketers.....clearly remember sadly Kim Hughes got sabotaged by one DK Lillee and Rod "Bacchus" Marsh.....didn't stop folk then supporting the Aust team.

Cricket Australia are a disgrace. Extremely poor treatment of Justin Langer.

Appears certain players have to much power in the dressing room.

Who controlled the dressing room back when Ian Chappell was captain?......ditto when Greg Chappell, Lillee and Marsh played?.....there are always going to be alpha ego's in every team......I guess time will tell if moving on JL was the right move..... I guess he was the right choice post sandpaper gate......but that's 4 years ago......only the English and kiwi fans keep bringing up sandpaper gate.....think Aust and World cricket has moved on since then.....but then again the Kiwi's still hark back to the underarm incident.....and that was  over 4 decades ago......LOL

I'd like to see Jason Gillespie take over but naturally we'll see Trevor Bayliss get the job by the looks of it anyway

The core of the issue has been the dithering of the Cricket Australia board in making a decision. In the end they made a non decision which took the matter out of their hands. Imagine if someone at CA had approached JL in the days after the ashes and told him that they were looking at appointing a new coach after Langers contract was up, given him the reasons for the change and offered to pay out the rest of his contract. Yes it would still have been messy and the decision would have still been criticised by many BUT it would have meant that Langer wouldnt have had to hang around in Melbourne for 3 weeks waiting for the outcome and the players would have been saved from the inevitable awkward questions. The whole situation was a complete failure of the Cricket Australia board to do what they are paid to do. That is to manage these situations fairly respectfully and quickly.
The entire board should resign and take that incompetent CEO with them as well.
