Eagles looked in 2nd gear as Bombers had no idea up forward. When SAAD is the top goal kicker then they were useless. McKernan & Stringer were unsighted. Fantasia thought he was in Disneyland.. Nic Nac was huge & Eagles forwards delivered.. They can go further than Worsfold who should go to Freo..

While I loved an Eagles win, I was disappointed at what the Bombers dished up for an elimination final. It’s hard to draw a line on the Eagles with a game like that, but they’ll sure as heck not get it that easy next week. I think fantasy pants listens to BT too much. Saad is a champion.

Has the potential to be a high scoring open affair as both sides like to move the footy quickly by foot, whoever can defend better will win and i think thats where the Weags may have the edge, plus if our indigenous boys in Jetta, Willie and Ryan can turn it on again it will be a treat to watch.

Must feel a bit for Geelong as they have been fighting to get a home final but to no avail, they are not a Melbourne based team so should get the benefit of a home final like all non melbourne based clubs get if they qualify. Just imagine what Eddie would have done if rightfully Geelong hosted the qual final down at Geelong, he would have exploded in a shower of self righteous bullshit. Eg if GWS had qualified higher than the Pies they would have hosted at their small stadium so no reason why Geelong cant host more finals.

Spot on SS, the Cats have been hard done by - unfairly. Bit like that final the Eagles played against the Bummers a few years ago.
As for the WCE v Cats, I would have thought that the Eagles can win, but the worrying thing is that the cats won’t play that badly 2 weeks in a row.

I agree. I see no valid reason why Geelong wouldn't play finals at the cattery otherwise there's no real advantage in finishing top of the ladder when they have to play the 4th placed side at the Pies' home ground.

Assuming a finals (not GF) ticket at the MCG costs an average of $50 (just a guess), I can see about 2 million reasons why Geelong are getting shafted.

Remember, the AFL gets the net gate receipts from all finals games.

$50.00 Jack? I paid a shit load more than that to go to the WCE v Tigers match a couple of weeks ago. Methinks I got diddled.

No arguments there Jack but if that's the overriding reason then why not play all finals involving a Victorian based club at the MCG? Eagles v Essendon got around 55,000 at Optus but I reckon you could add another 20,000 to that if played at the MCG.
