It was the Eagles best performance of the season without doubt. Feel for the two players who went down, it is a brutal game sometimes. I thought that Lewis Jetta showed a bit tonight, set up a few goals and tackling was ferocious. The Hawks seemed to be undersized in the backline and missed Stratton. The Eagles big forwards were all over them and McGovern was unbeatable in defence. Don't write the Hawks off yet though, they lost in Perth in the finals last year and still won the flag. Guys like Mitchell Hodge and Gibson had off nights.

Not sure if others agree but the reintroduction of Dom Sheed tot he side has made a huge difference.He is a superb payer and takes pressure off a couple of other mids.
But on the down side, how long can the side continue to pay Josh Hill?Seriously, he is a hand brake on the side.A couple of players that have not been contributing much have the last couple of weeks found something, but Hill is a mystery.
Jetta did some good things with out being out standing, and Kennedy has been out standing the last three weeks.

And on Hawthorn and injuries, hopefully John Ceglar is going to be ok with his knee injury.His didn't look too good either.

As good as Hodge was, he plays unaccountable footy ( as in no opponent) across the backline these days. I agree with yer sentiments 100% a/man. I havent been that impressed with the hawks all year. The age factor shows up in the more intense games against higher placed sides.

We all must favor one team in each city but the Eagles have a few Premiership Cups whereas the Crumpets dont. (good to see Hurley back)
