I think another disappointment is Darling - brilliant one minute, cold the next. I can't see where Simmo is content with the list and their performance. I wouldn't expect huge changes, but there has to be 2 or 3. God anchor, what does NN have to do to earn a bit of respect from you Freo boys? Perhaps the colour of his jumper skews your opinion?

All recruits traded for, might be better to nurture your own talent.

Agree, but it's hard for the WA clubs when the COLA and Hawks et al are on the east coast and can virtually buy any player they want. Seems as though very, very few east coasters want to come West.

On a serious note 58, i9 think its the continous travel that puts the east coasters off. ( see not a sarcastic remark about the fish bowl environment that is wa footy).
More players want to play in vic than vice versa eh, perhaps too, cost there are 10 teams in vic, they aint under scrutiny too 24/7?. Surely the hawks cap is the same as the eags and freo, so nothing to complain about there eh. Though Gaff Mundy Wirra etc stayed here

Taking the rest of the season for the Eagles from a "glass half full" approach, they have a great opportunity in the final three rounds of the season to tune themselves up for the finals. Games versus GWS, Hawthorn and Adelaide are the ideal run in for a finals campaign so they should hit September knowing exactly what is required. Other finals contenders have soft draws which may not necessarily be the best exposure to finals type pressure. Wins in 2 of their remaining 3 games should see them sneak into the top 4 as their percentage is good. If they do this they are in premiership contention

Of course the quality of their football has to improve 100% on what they have been showing in the past month or two to even be competitive in these 3 games but momentum is a funny thing. If they could somehow beat GWS in Sydney this weekend ( a team they have never lost to mind you) they could get on a bit of a roll at the right end of the season, who knows?. They just need some of their underperformers who have played much better in previous seasons to come to the party and you just never know what might happen.

Taking the alternative view, if they don't improve their rating it will be a 7th or 8th place finish and a week 1 finals exit.

Spot on mike. I can't see them winning any of their last 3 games in their current form. I did tip them to win this weekend - I need a roughie for a bit of catch up!!

I have a bit of a feeling about them this weekend as they would have a psychological advantage over GWS. As you said they would need a massive lift from guys like Darling, LeCras, and others to do it. They need more with Priddis's attitude.

psychological advantage is good for a team in form, but the Eagles aren't in form...so far. I still think they're a rough chance. If not, they don't deserve to be in the 8.
