I cannot believe they have dropped Brown, his skills have improved quite a bit with him having had regular AFL games.
They just re-signed him for three years, go figure.
Hurn, Waters, Glass, Mackenzie, Schofield & Brown for mine. With all fit and healthy.
Ashley Smith has my going nowhere thoughts. I prefer Brennan and Sheppard over Smith.
Hopefully Ablett has a blinder!!!
As this is my first AFL game this year and first time seeing Ablett play.

You saying West Coast have re-signed Brownie for 3 years schwab? That would be great, but play him for gawdsake. Smith is nowhere as good and Brennan thinks he's Usain Bolt, but keeps getting caught. Not a fan of Smith or Brennan. But then, I wasn't a fan of Glass when he first came into the side.

Smith is rubbish. Brown has been good this year and will continue getting better with each game he plays. Why they would drop him is beyond me. Not a massive fan of Brennan either, but he is still young so time will tell.

Agree on the Brown call, he has been playing well and getting better the longer he plays. Definately reminds me of McKenzie when he was quite fresh, definately made his mistakes but the more he played the better he got....hopefully Brown can continue his progression and become like McKenzie.

Shwaborn.....your back 6.....spot on in my opinion. Also the same with Smith, dont rate him and never have, i would much prefer Brennan as well. Sheppard hasn't shown as much as Brennan in my opinion. Sheppard seems more like a wing/half forward rather than a back pocket/hb flank, but still then doesnt deliver.

Still havent been able to see a WC v GC game at Subi.....always playing this one on the Saturday afternoon. Will record it and watch though. I think with our forward line, Glass back, we should get a win.

Some of the umpiring in this game was woeful! How on earth was that sheppard a free kick against C. Brown!? It was a good old fashioned sheppard, not high, within the play. Fucking disgrace!

Some of the umpiring at AFL has gone beyond incompetent. For example, in the incident where Podsiadly received his most recent one week suspension, umpire 20 had a clean and uninterrupted view of the incident yet did not award a free kick against him for the high contact. Yes, he eventually gave a free kick against him for holding the ball. If a player gets a week's suspension, and I understand it was a week rather than a reprimand, for high contact surely the umpire should have given a free kick against him?

The umpires miss the most blatant and obvious free kicks, yet somehow can see which player is holding the ball when there is a pack of players obscuring the ball from him.

Umpires are a joke. I saw a few obvious ones not paid. But the last two against the Suns didn't seem obvious from where I was sitting.

I thought it was a pretty ordinary performance from the Eagles. They've got a long way to go if they want to make inroads next year. I know they had plenty of outs, but with the people they had in, they should have won easier. I thought that the one shining light was Wellingham - he is so silky smooth. I think he will be the precise ball getter/carrier/deliverer in the centre that the Eagles have needed for some time.

Respectfully disagree shark. I dont think WCE were ever going to win by a large margin. GCS are not the easy beats that they were in the last 2 seasons.

You're probably right yolo. I think a lot of people (me included) haven't given the Gold Coast the respect they deserve. IMHO, they'll make the finals sooner rather than later.
