Just when you thought the Eagles couldn't get any worse....... they've found another level of rock bottom worse than ever. Right now they are rabble.

I reckon Simmo would be relaxing at home enjoying his contract payout and money rolling in from media work and his two HJ's stores feeling quite satisfied that his sacking was unjustified.

The media and the plebs that ring up talk shows baying for the coaches blood should be ashamed of themselves. Andrew McQualter must be thinking no wonder Simmo couldn't get this mob to fire a shot.

Shit football department has dropped the ball making blunder after blunder and it goes back to Nisbett hanging on to dead wood for way too long. Is Tim Gepp still pacing the corridors?

They had a successor to Nisbett in Craig Vozzo but he got sick of waiting for Nisbett to hand over the reigns. Now he's Essendon CEO since 2022.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

it is the best player ever seen
no-one before or after matters because it is just the best ever

I can understand why they are offering 1.7, but don't agree with it.  The eastern Mexicans are reported as offering him 2 mil.  I really think they should sell him at the end of this season and who knows, they could end up getting 2 Harley Reids for the price of 1.  Not that this Harley is showing a real lot atm.

Massive problem at the Yellas Eyrie.
Nisbett should have gone many years before but rode off the coat of flags.
Maybe he saw that there was only one way and it was the opposite of up.
Are Pike and Worsfold the answer!
I don't think Pike has ever held this high a position at any club.
Worsfold was there when the drug issue was rocking the state. And he has said he knew of eight players. Not a good look.
Far too many cover ups and players not being disciplined.
Also the club was , and I repeat WAS, teflon coated . The teflon wore aoff a fair time ago.
Even the local West Coast rag now seems to be prepared to call it as it is.
And as for Harley, yeah the kid can play, but doesn't actually play often enough.
Always looking for a blue. But , I like so many have the feeling that there will be far too much money splashed at im from the marauders from the East.
Funny reading this morning that Baker, they Yellas recruit from Richmond has been critical in the press about lack of extra training.
Looking at a couple of players who could be on the run next season, they could do with some extra work on the training track.
More disaster before the next long time away rise I reckon.

Eagles as a club made great decisions for over 3 decades. Its been a train wreck since the last flag.
Wrong appointments to the club. People, hanging in to long.A ressies team that seems to not be interested . Players  close to falling of the cliff.Which means the rebuild has a long way to go.
Assuming the future retirements. And thinking 4 or 5 of their rookies. Wont cut it at Afl level..They could be in the same position as now in 2027.
Remember Tasmania will get the first 8 drafts in there opening season. Not a great time to be bottom of the ladder.

They need to get back to basics. Apparently their tally of contested possessions on the weekend was the lowest ever recorded. That is just the desire to compete and get the ball which seems to be lacking. As for Reid, he is going through a common ailment called "2nd year blues" which is when opposition coaches and players work out how a young player goes about his game and implement plans to nullify him. In Harleys case it is his habit of getting into fights and engaging with the crowd which is taking away from his game at the moment. He is talented enough to fight his way through this down patch but being in a team that gets flogged every week is not helping either

I think the trouble began in the drug problem era, but became worse during the Covid hub.
They, like Richmond were like a spoilt child in the way they were complaining about being awayfrom home.Their training regime during that time would have beensecond rate at the best. The payers fitness fell away drastically. And, it seemed the club did not care.
It is going to take a long time for them to get back somewhere near the great club they once were.

The WCE certainly had their issues following on from drug issue cover up that became very public but with a changing list the club had a pretty good period on-field from 2011 thru to 2020 making finals with the exception of 2013. The big issue that they are facing now is that they overachieved winning the flag in 2018 with the list that they had. Most pundits had them finishing outside of the 8 and then following on from winning the premiership they threw the kitchen sink and the rest of the house with it to get Tim Kelly.

Since then WCE trades and recruitment through the draft has been underwhelming at best. From the 2019 draft only 1 player is still on their list Callum Jamieson. None of WCE 2020 draftees are still active.

Add WCE's inability to keep anything near their best (average) side on the paddock from 2019 onwards with key players suffering repeat injuries - Shoey, Nic Nat, Yeo, McGovern etc

One thing overlooked by many (including me), was that the Eagles gave us warning that this would probably happen.  Many (including me) thought they would drag themselves up the ladder this year.  Well, I’ve reset my compass and will not get overly concerned till about round 15 where I would be expecting them to challenge some of the lower ranked teams.  If we’re still getting flogged this time next year….FIIK!!!!

Held on to old players for too long  as well as extending contracts beyond what was necesssary, i mean nic nac for 2 years , when one would have been just fine, he was never going to leave anyway IMHO , and looking at the Eags reserves, there appeared to me to be a lack of talent  coming thru. Baker and Graham are average players, who play well in a good team ( tigers).  Would captain Duggan get a game in any other AFL club??  I think Nessbit stayed too long, which didnt help the club move forward.
