I see David King, Wayne Cary and Glenn Archer among others, are pushing to get Adam Simpson back to The Roos as head coach for next season.

A good letter in today's paper by Ric Gloede where he says that AFL clubs are looking at 5 players from Souths in the mid year draft. He reckons if all go, it will decimate the club and suggests they should put a limit on players taken per club to two.

This is getting beyond ridiculous.  The AFL will destroy its feeder system.

David King refutes this and says he hasn’t spoken to Simpson about this at all.  Bulldog Wilson is at it again.

Good timing with the derby coming up! But who to replace Adam Simpson at West Coast? They will never lure Clarko out here. Maybe they should look at a Eagle past great. Don Pyke might be interested. Taking the crows to a grand final is not to be sniffed at.

I dont think even a Clarkson would do much better with the current Eagles list. It's the football managers and recruiting guys who should take the hit, not sure how much final say Simpson has regarding recruiting. 

It all comes down to how strongly the club embraces the re-build process. A number of senior players need to be moved on, and a heap of good youngsters brought in. There should be no expectation of a finals tilt util around 2025 or 6, the club should state that and embrace the idea, maybe that might get some of the chardonnay set to stay on board.

I think the “Chardonnay set” will stay on board, the Eagles have been through this shit before.  The thing I can’t come to grips with is the booing of Jack Darling or the ironic cheers toward him.  But then, he’s not the only player that’s had to cop this shit over the years.

I suspect over the years Darling had the expectation upon him of being an absolute beast ( with his build) and abilty/athleticism he has. I dont think his anti vac stance ( each to their own on this one), endeared him to the faithfull either. He is a good player not doubt, i just dont think he has lived up to expectations, hence the bronx cheers

The tinfoil hat anti-vax thing aside, the thing that disappoints me and most I think is his inconsistency. I watch him tear Richmond a new one when WC took them apart at Optus in their flag year, but the next game he went missing. he hasn't performed in finals when he should be making an impact. he still has a profile and is back kicking some goals in a very poor team so he could attract some interest as a trade at seasons end.

The disappointing thing for me Unk, is that he knew all along that he would not play without the jab.  Thus, he had no thought for the club or the team.  Surely he knew he was letting everyone down and would end up giving in to the shot.  Maybe the missus whispered a threat or two in his ear. 😬. Very selfish I thought.  However, I do not agree with anyone booing him… or any other player for that matter.
