It is interesting to listen and read the views expressed that the umpire was correct in awarding the free kick to the Eagles. However, as I have said many times we shouldn't let the facts get in the way of a good story. The umpire was clearly and demonstrably wrong twice.

The first time he was wrong was when he didn't award a free kick for the initial tackle which was marginally high and in all probability most times would not have been paid. Secondly, he was wrong when he awarded a high tackle for the second tackle which was clearly not high. The umpires' department have suggested that he 'misspoke' when he said the second tackle was high. However, it is clear that the whistle did not get blown before the second tackle and was blown as a consequence of the second tackle. Not it surely is not possible that the umpire didn't see either but guessed and we all know that umpires don't guess, even when it would have only be possible to see the infringement if the umpire in question had zray eyes.

Why on earth would we ever call a shoulder to the head high??

Still no reasonable explanations i see regarding never losing a free kick count here like "forever" i notice. As mentioned been to many many WAFL games and the understanding of the game amongst die hards is tremendous, heck they even lamb blast thier own players when they give away "obvious" frees. Something happened betwen WAFL fans and the 40,000 eagles fans that i dont undetstand! My perosnal Fav tho 58shark is when born and bred WA footy fans, still support thier original AFL team, and bemoan the the WCE fans. That is GOLD!

And you won't see me trying to explain the 'free kick' indifference. I've said it twice before unk, I don't give a a rats about umpiring stats be it at Subi, MCG or Wyndham oval. I said what you get is what you get be it home or away - not worth fussing over coz it ain't changing. People have whinged about the umps since forever. As for supporters of the game, I don't give a rats about them providing they don't overstep and start the rubbish we see in soccer, racism and the rest of the crap that goes on at ALL venues. If WCE supporters start the vilification, spitting etc, then I will hang my head in shame for them.
