The Warwick Greenwood Amateur Football Club (WGAFC) is seeking a Head Coach for its League team competing in the Metro Football League (MFL) Division 1 for the 2020 season.
The WGAFC provides an opportunity for its players to develop both in football skills and strategies, in a setting that encourages individual and team participation and achievement. Additionally, with its home base at Percy Doyle Reserve in Duncraig we offer a program and culture where all players, families and supporters want to spend their leisure time during the winter months.
The successful candidate would be working closely with a newly appointed, dedicated and vibrant committee with aspirations to return the Club to its rich, successful history.
Coming off a reasonably successful 2019 season, the League side returned to the Finals for the first time since 2016 with the Reserves narrowly missing out. What was more pleasing was the injection of new players to the Club and the sport as a whole, a real positive off-field culture and the Club returning to a healthier financial position.
The MFL season typically kicks off in mid-April with weekly Sunday fixtures and finals played in August-September. WGAFC would look to commence pre-season training in mid-January. The successful candidate would need to coordinate a training program, in conjunction with the Reserves Head Coach, that caters to the varying levels of talent, age, experience, fitness level and motivation. Additionally, the successful candidate will need to develop and deliver plans and strategies that are all-inclusive, adaptive and relevant to the current competition.
The successful applicant will have Level 1 AFL Coaching Accreditation. Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
