Fox and Kayo are going to cover every game in the Shute Sheild which is the equivalent of the WAFL in Sydney’s Rugby Union and pay them for it.The WAFL has double the TV ratings of the Shute Sheild and bigger crowds so you would think an offer to WAFL would be on the cards

they have finally worked out that telecasting women's sport and australian soccer does not make them any money.

Reading a bit more about the Shute Sheild comes with many similarities to the WAFL and what the WAFL could do.
In 2016 the Shute Sheild Grand drew 5000 people and the comp was in massive decline, very similar to the WAFL.
In 2017 the Shute Sheild went on an unprecedented promotional drive with billboards all over Sydney promoting the comp and numerous TV and radio ads promoting the comp in a way it has never been done before. 2017 saw 13000 at their Grand Final 2018 saw 15000 at North Sydney Oval for the GF and this they took the GF away from Rugby Union heartland to Parramatta and the Gf drew 13000.
Some home and away game crowds the last few years featuring traditional Rugby Union clubs are drawing 8000/10000 on the back off the massive promotion .
The Shute Sheild now has a great product to sell and Fox and Kayo want to buy it.
This could easily be done at WAFL level. Average TVRatings for the Shute Sheild have gone up from 8000 when on tha ABC to 18000 on 7mate last year.
The WAFLs average TV ratings last year was 32000.
The SANFL was 38000 and the VFL was 49000
Do the WAFL has a bigger product sell to Fox and KAYO .

it is part of their charter, i think, they have to support some local sport
i would also televise one game from each set of shield matches during the cricket season
i am unsure why none of this applies to Optus?
anybody can beam the football in from england each week and pretend its live when, in fact, its streammed.
if i was fox, one might try to keep hold of some of the domestic soccer games and the australian internationals.

while i am on foxtel, i am unsure that it was the right decision to get rid of 'eurosport' but that is that, i guess.

Foctel had a crack at WAFL during the Foxtel Cup Games, they also replayed a WAFL game a week at one stage. Don't think it had much impact.

Stand the Test wrote: It’s all just posturing, it’s not because local rugby has become of more interest. It’s cos super 15 rubbish.
And you can’t believe Fairfax any more on media reporting given it is owned by nine,
‘Independent. In the past.’

I agree, Fox are trying to force the price down.
