IMO Sokol could add something to a team like GC as he'd get the third or fourth best defender and plays taller than he actually is. Braut was superb through the back half of the season and is still young enough and has the size to give it a real crack at the next level...the only concern is that he has a bit of a dodgy knee which flares up occasionally. Greg Clark and Borchet would be fringe players at AFL level and probably spend a fair bit of the season playing state league wherever that may be. I also found it interesting that Zac Clarke was around the place after the GF given he's on a 1 year contract at Essendon which hasn't been extended as far as I know although he hasn't been let go either. I wonder if he could make a return to Subi next year if he gets passed over by the Dons?...although in saying that, he's from Victoria so would be a long shot but you never know I guess.

Sokol could be a good fit for a couple of more sides than just Gold Coast, in particular if his match up is the 3rd or 4th best defender.
If Essendon delist Clarke he would be a welcome addition back into the side - would solve the woes that Subiaco has had in the rucking department this year and win more than his share of hit outs.

The woes they had in the rucking department? Didn’t their ruckman win the Sandover??

More of a ruck rover ToOl. He roved more of the opposition taps than he won himself.

Still, your ruckman winning the sandover suggests the "woes" in your ruck department aren't too much of a worry

Sandliands could be an option to fix Subi's ruck problem if Clarke can't make it back for next season.

Maybe a tad - I'd be a lot more confident if the Lions could snare big Sandi next year though, that would leave Clarke as back up and pinch hitting as an extra tall up forward.
Not forgetting it would free the Sandover Medalist in Delahunty up for a free wheeling ruck/rover type role in the vain of a Stephen Michael or a Michael Tuck.
Subiaco just can't afford to stand still, continuous improvement is essential if you don't want the rest of the field to overtake you.

And they have to contend with these danger games week in and week out. I just wish they could get some clear space to perfect a game plan rather than being harshly tested each week.

When you surround players with better players they tend to look better. How many Subi players could join another team and stand out?
