Good luck to them, it was always going to happen and if they advance this week then the remainder of the squad come into play, look out $ubi if WP can't get past them on Sunday.

No DF, if we cant beat the WCER should we and they make the GF then we dont deserve the flag, seems WP get a good deal given WCER dont get carte blanche selection which wont be the case for Souths or Cl should WCER beat Joondy, thats the inequity right there.

Not saying I agree or disagree, but i presume the reason would be that weagles are not playing this week and they are the following week.
And the ruling would suggest that if the weagles are out of the AFL finals when the WAFL GF weekend comes around then they will/should be consistent and apply what they have done for this weekend.

Because WCE aren't playing this week so the qualification rules kick-in whereas next week they can only select from players not involved in the seniors.

Yeah I do actually know the reason for it but it just seems a bit flimsy, this stupid afl bye complicates it. I just reckon whilst the Eagles or Fremantles seasons are alive the rules shouldn’t change whether there’s a bye or not.

I actually don't disagree with you ToOl but I guess it gets a bit complicated when WCE has a week off over the finals and the quali rules are in play meaning some guys would have qualified during the season and can play WAFL even though they would have been in the mix to play seniors that weekend if WCE were playing. For arguments sake, if WCE had a week off next week instead of playing Essendon the likes of Waterman and co could potentially suit up for the WAFL under the qualifying rules. As WCE is playing next weekend you'd think he'd be in the top side so won't be playing reserves...under that scenario I'm sure they wouldn't risk him to play in the WAFL but in theory he could.

What's everyone so fussed about? Surely no-one is thinking that Subi can be challenged for the flag? Remember they have lost one game all year and have a percentage of 186. Their last 5 games have seen winning margins of 68, 58, 62, 70 and 67, at a percentage of almost 250. And, as Subi fans keep reminding us, they have not been at full strength or playing their best. If Subi's GF opponent can run them to within 5 goals it will be a highly commendable effort.
