The main stand at the old Subi Oval was called the Members Stand, and was for WANFL members. I used to get in there for Subi games with my grand-parents in the early - mid 60s. From memory, only my grand-father was a member, as women could not join. Hence my grand-mother would attend on a "Ladies Pass" which was available with the male membership.

Bit like the Weld Club I guess.

It was also one of the few places near the city (where they lived) where you could get a beer on Sunday morning - which privilege the old boy abused with some relish. When I think of some of the drives back to town after the bar closed at noon, it still makes me shudder.
