Leedy, TRSM has already addressed that before mate and believe me he would know!
And do you honestly think any player would have left SD or any club in financial trouble for that matter if the Football Commission in an unprecedented step started paying their wages like is happening at WP because the club cant?

Leedy - you didnt have money to pay players, coaches, the ATO, state govt, suppliers - your club entered into voluntary administration, you reckon that is the same as a few players reckon they have not been paid ?
you are living in dream land and are obviously not a person owed money from West Perth like the tax payers of WA who had a 200k debt wiped off !
as for Twomey and Robinson - Swans offered 7k up front at the time, they said they can get better at Subi and then when the WAFL made a mistake of sending all clubs the list of player payments Subi had half that listed for both players, work that out !

MO is spot on there. Twomey and Robinson's payments recorded on Subi's books is a far cry from what the said they were leaving for and far less than what they were getting at Swans. Go figure.
I could write a book on how players are paid.

I’m pretty sure they owed the ATO around 450k or was that Venues West?

What many people on here Don't understand is that Swans owed far more than that.
What also needs to be understood is that Swans employ 4 x times as many operational staff as any other WAFL or (non AFL) sporting club in WA.
So when figures of A turnover of nearly $4m per annum and creditors are bandied around those figures include the clubs community arm VSwans.
There are many reasons why Swans ended up in a mess. A mess that has taken many years to clean up.
So don't take as Gospel what Hodyl says about player payments being too much in a turnover of $3.8m. His comments just go to show that he has no idea and is just trying to deflect attention away from his poor stewardship over the past 6 years.

trsm...other than for Swans fans who are entitled to ask questions, I think it's pretty irrelevant why Swans went into debt...the real thing for all WAFL supporters was the fact your club was able to trade its way out notwithstanding your on-field performances have taken a hit in recent years. I think it's to the club's credit they didn't take the easy way out and battled hard to get back on their feet.

There's been 3 clubs who have been in financial disarray and used 3 different methods to get out of it.

Swans did the honorable thing and worked their butts off to clear the debt.

East Perth aligned with WCE and now are in an enviable financial situation - smart but sneaky and sold their souls at the time.

Joondy just threw their hands up and said "oh dear this is just too hard, we are such a famous club we cant go under, someone come and bail us out" coz we are too lazy to do it ourselves.

Have a listen to you SS, the biggest cheating club in the history of the WAFL and your offering your two bobs worth. The main reason other clubs go under etc is to keep up with the Joneses mate, how fucking dare you pipe up, your morals have been questioned many times over my friend:angry:

Beas,

With TRSM possibly being involved at Swans some time ago Im sure you would be 100% behind his word along with MO. I know for a fact that a couple of players (that I definitely know of), have not been paid, don't give a shit what you blokes say and no MO before you ask, I don't have to disclose who they are. In fact a recent departure was partially based on a non player payment.

I don't give a shit if this would have sent you broke or not, my point is that you blokes are not squeaky clean by a long stretch.I also couldn't give a shit in what we did at WP to stay alive, all I care about is that I am currently still privileged to watch them, you blokes in this same situation if it was Swans would be responding similarly to what I am, don't kid yourselves.

Leedy,so we give facts and you give supposition, innendo and rumour.
So put up or shut up.
It is worse than listening to a former WP president who thinks he knows all about Swans yet didn't know what was happening in his own back yard
