How about this then, any player drafted in the national draft the junior club of origin gets 60% of the purse, WAFL club gets 40%.

Midseason draft, Wafl club 100% of the purse unless he is 20 or under then see above.
Sounds pretty fair and overly wieghted in the wafls favour but I'm not greedy.

Out of curiosity, who is the 16s development coach down at Swans?

It sounds like Tugger has missed a fair bit of the mental development squad as well.

Let's get personal because what I am saying actually makes sense. U want 100% of the pay for the minority of work.

no, i dont think what you are saying makes sense at all but you are entitled to your opinion.
maybe you could come up with a suitable formula based on training sessions and games played by each player drafted so that all relevant junior clubs, school football teams, senior football clubs(for country kids), WAFL development programs, WAFL senior programs that a player has either played or trained with can get a share of the draft fee, you could divide the current entitlement of $0 amongst all those clubs.
you seem passionate about it so let me know how you go.

That's not a bad idea Mark but u have too wait a little for the landscape to change before u pick that fight. 2-3 years time potentially.

No one can come up with a valid reason why a junior club shouldn't get a cut. I find it ironic.

Wafl clubs get players based on where they live, not the experience they provide.

I think the bottom line is that football clubs need to be rewarded for helping to get players to the next level as an incentive for them to continue to do so. Whether it be the wafl development system or the junior club this principle should apply. Therefore when the afl take a player whether it be from wafl seniors or colts there should be a price paid which should then be filtered down the system including the junior club of origin of that player. What seems to be happening now is the afl is saying we provide overall funding to the wafl so why do we have to pay for this too, but if they dont where is the incentive for the junior development system to continue?
