Looks like another nail in the coffin of the Junior Development Programs once the domain of WAFL Clubs. Be interested in SDFC and Claremont FC posters take on this. It does mention WAFL club visits is that legit?

Dwert: I don't think it such a bad innovation on the part of the Commission, provided of course, it is not used to take them away from SD and CL. Both clubs, I am certain, would have major logistical problems running therir respective zones so sensible help would be appreciatted.

I can't speak to what Claremont are specifically doing in the Kimberley. Swans have a vSwan programme which is similar to the Clontarf programme where there is an emphasis on getting both boys and girls in the Pilbara to attend school through the incentive of sport (Aussie Rules and Netball). One of the guys involved in that programme has been Shane Beros.

Would the WAFC have any idea about what Swans have been doing? The likelihood of the WAFC knowing would be less than picking the Powerball for the next 10 weeks.

I think it would be fair to say that I would hold the WAFC in greater contempt than Tonny Abbott.

S42 -- sounds as if the board are on the right track which is good. It is almost certain that a of the kids would not speak English as their first language so attending school would be a great foundation for life in general as well as football.

The BIG question is why under those circumstances would the WAFC stick their unwanted necks into this situation and do something on their own rather than in concert with Swans's cSwans programme? One can only SURMISE it is part of the WAFC continuing DRIVE to DESTROY the WAFL.

If SD and Cl aren't asked to fund this 3 day adventure not sure why all the OTT negativity 42....head coach Beau McDonald (ex SD?) surely would have the contacts at SD to keep them in the loop....and TBH one would summize that those kids selected would of been on the recommendation from SD and Cl programs anyway?....it has given these kids another opportunity to experience where footy could take them....at no cost to SD or Cl....surely that is a good thing?
Sharing the load so to speak....not just leaving it to a few to do the work.....

I guess after the Jason Carter saga going from CL to Peel, I can see the trepidation from SD and Cl fans....on the other hand I guess it's good to see the WAFC getting off their arse and showing some initiative and I can't see all these boys getting selected into Freo or WCE NGA squads....so still plenty of involvement required from SD and Cl to resource/develop these zones....

Once again Freezin adopts a contrary position even though he knows that what the WAFC is doing is a pre-cursor to taking it over completely. Freezin since you seem to know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING what consultation was ther between the WAFC and the two WAFL clubs before the decision was made?

42.....I am neither for or against this WAFC NGA initiative....one would like to think past WAFL boys in Beau McDonald and Tendai Mzungu have done their due diligence and involved the likes of SD and Cl in selecting which boys from their NW zones would benefit from such an initiative? Or are we just assuming these boys have been randomly chosen by the WAFC suits, irrespective of their footballing abilities without any SD/Cl consultation?
If so, then like I said in my earlier post I understand SD and Cl fans trepidation post the Jason Carter fiasco. Just trying to bring a balanced view to the table for discussion unlike u.

Since obviously you are so sure this is another WAFC conspiracy, I put it to u then as you are obviously more versed on the happenings down at SDFC than me, to provide me with proof that SDFC knew nothing of this venture and are against this initiative totally and are insulted that the WAFC are undermining SD development strategies. One would like to think they were consulted and are actually going to be present supporting these kids when they are in Perth. But I know u cant or won't....it's just another subjective biased rant of yours against the WAFC.... mate seriously you are way too emotional to have a balanced discussion with....yeah you love the WAFL I get that but you really need to ease off the WAFC conspiracy theories/ranting u r sounding very Grassylike now days....
