I say anybody can coach a team like that at their disposal Percy.

He also added that it's an interesting comp.
Take out Subi and then it will be an EVEN comp Percy.

Subi should be the third team from WA to join the AFL.
They won't do much worse than hack teams like Carlton, St Kilda, Brisbane & Gold Coast.
Then we would go back to an eight team comp.

mate...I'm not sure if you've ever taken the time to listen to Schofield at the breaks but if you haven't I suggest you do and I think you'll be impressed. He rarely rants and raves and if he does have a crack at someone he makes sure they understand where they went wrong. You can tell the players have total respect for him just through their body language and total attention to what he is saying. Is he in the best 3 coaches in the land? I doubt it as he's never been tested at the top level which is a totally different environment but he has to be one of the best at state league in my opinion. I'd love to get the honest and open views of someone like Zac Clarke who has just come out of the AFL system on the club culture and approach to games which would include preparation, training, coaches and game day structures just to see how it all compares. If you saw the WAFL show a couple of weeks ago where Townsend interviewed Ben Newton he said that skills and intensity at Subi is not at AFL level but preparation and game plans and structures were almost on par which I thought was interesting.

Okay I will bite.

After 3 rounds how many games do you think Subiaco will win in the home and away season?

How many points will Subiaco finish in front of the second team?

What other teams will make the finals?

Who will be Subiaco's opponent in the 2018 GF?

Subi has one job and one job only. To make sure Peel/EP(ha) don't win flag. Their last two seasons have been abject failures given their resources and squad. They have to improve don't they? So let em but Subi you gotta do your job this year as the strongest of the trad WAFL clubs. If you don't do it you need to look at yourselves.

hmmm...ok...I'll try to answer your questions

I don't know that they'll finish on top do you?

Good question...in no particular order...Souths, Subi, Freo, WCE and possibly EF or SD.

They've got to get there yet so don't know.

Fight the real battle BC - make sure no AFL club wins the flag, something you have inexplicably failed to do for last two years. Over to you.

Are you seriously suggesting that you DON'T THINK that Subiaco will finish on top? By your own admission you have said Subiaco is not at full strength at the moment. What have the margins been thus Far?

I think we were never in the hunt in 2016 StT given chunder had 17 Freo players of which most were quality at WAFL level....last year we blew it and should have won.

When we play all teams we'll have a better understanding where Subi sits in the scheme of things and even then it's an indication only as things change as we know...so I'm not into making wild predictions after just 3 games unlike your goodself.

DD wrote: For a start BC Neil Randell should be removed from the WAFC and it is laughable that Subiaco have never been found guilty of exploiting the salary cap in some way or another. They can obviously afford the best accountants and lawyers that money can buy.

Secondly, Subiaco should be banned from recruiting for 5 years and there should be a draft introduced to the WAFL that means any players that want to move from interstate to the WAFL and players that want to change clubs should go into a draft that the worst performing clubs over the past 5 years can pick from. It can be done it just requires the will to do it.

I doubt any country footballers follow the WAFL so they should also go into a draft and WAFL clubs should no longer be aligned with any specific country zone.

DD nothing will EVER be done about said club whilst you have their ex key personnel now working at the Footy Commission....I mean it wouldnt be a smart business decision to essentially dob one's own self in now would it?!

Here is my "reckless" prediction of where and by how far Subiaco will finish after the home and away season:

FIRST by at least 16 points with a percentage of around 215%.

...And who's to say this won't be the last year of the Wafl. Another week of very disappointing attendance figures. When one considers the excellent weather conditions. For example to only have just over 1600 at the Arena yesterday is bad! Much of the media is still ignoring the Wafl matches!!! Which is inexcusable.
The general interest has fallen right away I'm sad to say!
Obviously Subiaco are upset about the last 2 seasons (as well they should be) and going all out to win the premiership if this is the last year of the Wafl.
The competition can't keep going the way it is. It will be up to the 7 Wafl clubs to effect some positive change, but one feels it's too late!
