What a shame the WAFL has been pushed into such a level of irrelevance that the Sandover Medal cant be broadcast live on TV, yet the equivalent in SA is?
Would love to be wrong about that but I havent heard anything?
I believe the lads on 91.3 SportFM are broadcasting live. Thank goodness for them.

Personally speaking - the Sandover night and it's annual broadcast was always a season highlight , christ we had get togethers food & drink every year family & friends for it - the highlight reels were the Duck's nuts of the night
It was a bit of a season's celebration particularly so if there were no finals to look forward to - and it was a way of recognising WA footy lads

Ever since that wanker Demetriou cut WA to ribbons and watered out it's potential to derail the VFL and it's self appointed governance of a very much public game , our league has suffered - despite the annual raids on anything that has a the faintest of pulses

Great honour the Sandover & despicable shame it's been disregarded like this

Well said Southy I still remember as a young lad Stephen Michael taking out the Sandovers in 80 & 81 with the latter season the superstar trifecta of S.Michael, P.Narkle & J.Krakouer...before Magic took it home the next season in 82...great days!

BH: I imagine that would have been the fist time in any of the major football leagues that 3 fellows of Aboriginal background had occupied those positions in the Sandover or Margarey or Brownlow count? It puts into perspective the AFL's indigneous round just a wee bit.
