You make a good point Southy but even some ex players are at fault there.
I made the mistake of watching Footy WA this morning (the only good thing on it is Scotty Cummings) where Watters & Connolly were banging on about Andrew Gaff being possibly the best wingman in WA Footy history!

BH: I am not having that about Gaff either. He might be the best wing man of teutonic descent to be seen in Western Australia, but he is not the best. Perhaps we should consider Gaff for one of the multi-cultural teams we picked a while back? Bloody good teams they were and all.

One would think the 7 Wafl clubs would get right behind the idea. The Wafl advertising department (or lack thereof) needs to crank it up. Or maybe the clubs organize advertising properly.
