Perhaps we may get a beter indicator by aopting the Olympic style scoring practice of dropping the biggest and smallest attendances to get a more indicative and representative average.

Swans dropping down the attendance rankings is a bit of a surprise. Perhaps last years performance has seen some fans drop off. Hopefully they get back on board soon. Our numbers are always poor but I expected to see a few more this year.

Average attendance by team, so far this season
East Fremantle 2091
East Perth 2057
West Perth 1938
South Fremantle 1917
Swan Districts 1861
Subiaco 1754
Claremont 1644
Perth 1577

SF- 3
EF- 2
WP- 2
EP- 2
SU- 1
PT- 1
CL- 1
PE- 0
SD- 0

Considering the massive boost in numbers that Public Holiday Games listed above have on attendance numbers the Swans figures are not to bad considering we dont get that false luxury like every other club does except Perth

Quite surprised the WAFC hasn't realised this travesty to the comps treasure chest, by not giving SD, the comps number one liked club on Facebook, public holiday viewing rights.....has Hodyl pushed SD case to the powers to be about this?...one silver lining to all this tho, is that all those SD dads, can spend time bonding with their loved ones on a Public Holiday pinic at Kings Park throwing the frisbee, instead of sinking a few mid strengths, bonding with their black n whithe brethren or the umps instead....imagine how sociologically and financially better off these historically lower socio-economic families are gonna be......perhaps there is logic to this obvious WAFL fixturing oversight......not too sure why Perth arent getting a public holiday look in tho....

I fully understand that logic doesn't necessarily have to be involved in a person's post. However, in my post where did I suggest that Swans' attendance figures would result in a higher place in the "attendances table"? Methinks you are extrapolating your own concerns on that matter; certainly they are not my concerns.

Haha...theres always a silver lining, mate look at EF , doing it hard this year but holding up the WAFL attendances, all at the expense of giving up Family Time, mate, its the old stages holding up the top for the 4 derby clubs,,,after that it falls away...lol

I'll give you due credit for your final sentence. As to Swans' attendance figures we had an horrendous season last year; but the attendance figures were down from the first game of the 2016 season at East Freo and followed up in our first home game. Whilst I accept that a lack of success can contribute to a drop in attendances the more likely candidates for the dropping attendances is the host club alignment and Subiaco's continuing dominance.

As a cautionary tale "we ain't seen nothing yet" if the two proposals to strip the colts' teams from the WAFL clubs and the removal of the ressies as the precursor to the league. If that happens I expect the average crowd figure to be about 750-800 per game with fewer than 3,000 attended the 4 WAFL matches per week end.

I knew it would have something to do with putting swans higher on the ladder that's the only reason you'd post it, of course if they were sitting on top, which they are not, then you wouldn't bother with coming up with obtuse calculations to improve a lacklustre look.
