For the acolytes of the WAFC TAC style 2018 colts' competition could you please explain why any WAFL club's supporter should bother watching their matches when the philosophy will be that winning is of no import whatsoever?

Well I suppose it will save on having a scoreboard because we won't be keeping score.

Swan in all my years involved in development football especially at 14/15's the score was not kept officially, 16's it was kept but in a lot of teams it was about playing as many boys as they could to see how they went, some teams had two sides (interestingly two of them have suffered of late in their colts teams).

I think the 18's has adopted a get players drafted philosophy which is ok for the select few but I like you don't understand it, the development process should be to get players into the WAFL and a draft is a bonus!

They won and did it well despite the margin.

Grump I will call a spade a spade. In my opinion what the "player first" approach means is that you develop selfish players. Players that don't sacrifice themselves for the good of the team. You won't develop players who are prepared to shepherd; players that won't gut run to provide an alternative for a player even though they know in all probability they probably won't get the ball.

This will be predicated all the way through the colts next year.

What a complete disservice we are doing for the young guys coming through the system from now on and I am not just talking about their footy development. I am talking more specifically and importantly about their personal development.
