The WAFL competition had a salary cap in place during 2016 which limited the Total Player Payments for the non-AFL aligned clubs to $294,000.

I understand that the cap for the aligned AFL clubs was $191,100.

Can somebody enlighten me as to whether the payments made to the aligned players by the Dockers and Eagles as part of their AFL salary was included in the $191,100 or excluded?

If not and the AFL players salary is excluded how does it work? Surely the $191,100 is not available to the non aligned players remaining at each of the two clubs.

Yes it would seem to me you still have a cap of about 70% of the non aligned clubs. No wonder Peel was able to lure Gerald Ugle away from Perth. He is probably one of the highest paid in the WAFL. Not even Subiaco could match them. When you consider they only play about 40 - 50% non AFL players from week to week at the very most. By the time finals came around Peel had up to 80-90% of their side made up of AFL players.

What salary cap? LOL

Player payments are double what the salary cap is anyway at some clubs.

Player points can't be manipulated but player payments can be whatever you want them to be
