FFC advised that DeBoer, Mzungu, Clancy Pearce & Hannath wont have their contracts renewed and Brady Grey & Josh Deluca have been delisted but both have the opportunity to train with the club for possible re-listing during the draft period.

No surprises re Deboer, Mzungu, Pearce & Hannath. If they don't get any other offers hopefully they will return to their original clubs. Hannath was recruited out of SA.

Bit surprised that Deluca was delisted but may only be temporary, if not he'd be more than welcome back at Subi.

Perth need to match the playing/coaching role that Swans appear to be offering Mzungu, and hopefully Pearce will head back to Basso as a much needed experienced player. Expect Deboer to head back to Claremont if there are no AFL offers which will make Cl even stronger along with their new coach and almost definite finalists.

Yeh none of those delistings really surprising but I was impressed with Deluca in the GF and I thought Brady Grey acquitted himself well the couple of opportunities he got in the senior side this year. All clubs now are going to have to target players that are top class by hand and foot and can play at a frenetic pace. The Bulldogs have set the new benchmark.

Just makes me wonder if the decision to delist Mzungu and Deboer etc was made before the WAFL finals then the efforts they put in to secure Freos bitch Peel the premiership were wasted then?? They couldn't have played much better and we're still cut so what was the point of them playing??
Other than to piss me off!!!!

You make a good point Jjm.We have all seen enough of the likes of Mzunga,DeBoer,Clarke,Griffin,Pearce,Suban and Silvagni to know what they bring to the table ,they are certainly not developmental players likeDeluca and Hughes. These are the sorts of players who should be playing finals for Peelmantle.Something the lawmakers and lawbreakers should look at for next season maybe?

Have you considered they didn't announce the delisting of those Fremantle players who participated in the WAFL finals out of respect for those players so they could concentrate their efforts on giving their best?

Surely you jest DD?

These Peelmantle players will surely commit fully to their beloved Peel next year? Their home club? Chance to go back to back? No brainer me thinks

Way off,Freo imo will want there newly drafted 6 to 9 players in Peels league team.
If Peel retain there delisted players most newbies will play ressies at peel.
But i suspect you already know this.

I had the feeling that they were set in stone weeks before the finals and that Ross got more and more pissed off with each Peel win as it meant that it wasted another week before they could do their culling and other pre-season preparations.

Those delisted don't then belong to Peel so they would then have to be "recruited" by Peel to stay there. I don't think that they can "recruit" too many if any players under the alignment model. Circumstances that led to having so many experienced players qualify for finals may not happen again next year but the scenario that occurred this year has damaged the credibility of the competition and shouldn't be allowed to be repeated again in the future.
The whole thing that the Freo players seemed to be trying harder to keep there place on the list and then got dumped anyway should be a lesson to them in the future.
