the greatwhitepointer has some good proposals for re-writting the next alignment agreement in the future.

PN: good post pointting to the myriad of reasons why people don't attend the WAFL. I will add one simple one to the equation: in 1987, people could go to both because they were played on different days --Saturday and Sunday -- a phenomenon which simplly no longer applies.

Yep, when the Eagles mainly played on a Sunday it left Saturday free for WAFL,

But also going along to Eagles matches back then were also a lot cheaper , most people could still get cheap standing room tickets on the hill or terrace, and going along to two games a weekend was not a big cost.

Now you have to fork out a small fortune for a seasons seat at the eagles or dockers, and most families cant afford two games a week , plus cant be bothered either.

Broadlly, I think one could put the position of the clubs as follows:

against

WP -- concertted campaign
SF
SD
CL

agnostic

EF

Favour

Subi
Perth
Peel
EP

which, of course, is very close to the majority of clubs; but, as others have pointted out in the past, all clubs are implicatted because they take the money attached to the alignment agreement.

Pretty much spot on and pretty much the same lines since 1986 and all the major decisions that have broken the back of the comp, from the intro of the eagles, SF and SD stood firm, to Peel to the Dockers and now the Alignment, dont forget the Wafc constitution pretty much disempowered the clubs as it gives the wafc a right of veto over them, that and the clubs complete financial reliance now on Afl dividends means they were powerless at the end of the day.

Anyone hear the boss of the wafc on 6pr yesterday morning? It will be very interesting to see what this major review comes up with, an international consultant has been briefed and is going through it with a fine tooth comb.

Yeah SF stood real firm, you must of forgotten that little episode of when you were aligned with the Dockers, and I havnt heard a peep from your club regarding the recent alignments either.

Depending on your angle,Credit Card Debt in WA is through the roof,or through the floor.

Whatever way you cut it,it's BAD!

Gotta do the shoping sometime I guess, why people want to do it Sundays is beyond me.

But you said you stood firm against the alignment when in fact you're club actually became aligned
Perth never has,, wow SF voted against it get I out in the media and make a stand about it , and condemn it no you're club bent over like the rest.

Trying to take the moral high ground against the alignment when you're club was one of the first ones to do it.

They blew it and bloody glad they did!

Kim seems to think,I'd be celebrating if PERTH were in Peel's position.

No I wouldn't.I would be elsewhere and he knows that, when he gave his convenient retort,1 minute before the news.

Hope he's on with Hardie tomorrow night,so I can deliver him one Big Sledge!

Lol if Hackdorn said it you know it's bullshit just remind Bazza how his club got in bed with the alignment.
