Well the "local media" died in the late 80's early 90's mate - these idiots nowadays wouldn't know shit from sugar if it didn't come with a Victorian seal on it
If you wanted proof just listen to Hagdorn , Zempilas , Barich , Townsend etc and the absolute shit that flows out

The only media fella that mentions WA grassroots footy is Commetti full stop

Yep,agree with all of the above.Listened to the ABC sport section this morning where the announcers spoke mostly about the AFL team of the year. Then came the WAFL,probably about 90 seconds worth with most of that going to the affiliated teams on Sunday. No mention of selections, key match ups, players in these finals who made the WAFL team of the year,etc..Jeez,where has the professionalism of sport reporting gone?

The comp is on life support with a finals series lacking of any interest or intensity for the first time in memory :( :(

The West pre-game lift out had the front page and 2 inside pages on the WAFL and finals. half a page on the west player of the year Bolton, preview of both finals and a very interesting article about Swans, well worth a look.

Why is that?.....because the best "supported" club in the WAFL finished 9th?......dont tell the SF boys that, they seem pretty pumped and primed and both WP n SF can break the Subi stranglehold...........the WP v SF game looks like a cracker.............no doubt if SD had made the finals and another poster wrote this, you would be hammering them with the sour grapes tag.....thank fark there is life outside the SDFC.......

time to end my self imposed exile but still pissed off the way outer was treated when the bogan miscreants can say what they like...but time to move on I guess. freez...after seeing FART's line up for tomorrow I can't see any team getting within 5 goals of them in the finals if their 18 AFL players are all ready to have a crack. any WAFL level side with a ruck combo of Griffin, Clarke, Hannath...backs the quality of Silvani, Collins, Morabito ....mids with Suban, Mzungu, de Boer, Blakely, Langdon plus Sandover Medalist ROB and then with forwards the calibre of Apeness, Yarran and so on will be extremely hard to match up on. I think it will be FART in the GF with their opponent anyone's guess if their AFL players are interested and don't want to just finish the season...and that's a big IF.

Only just realised today that every club has at least one team in the finals. East Fremantle in reserves and Swans and Perth in colts, Claremont in ressies and colts. At least keeps all supporters interested. East Perth and South Fremantle have finalists in all three grades so well done to them.

Exactly. A golden chance during the week to advertise and bring to peoples attention the start of the Wafl Finals was not taken! And one of the questions that needs answering is why not use the time because there were no other distractions. Is also going to be interesting to see if the match is well attended. All the venues have seen crowd numbers fall off a cliff this season. Fremantle Oval crowds are averaging about 1900/ match which is second only to the Arena. Looking out the window and it's a sunny day with 18 degrees. Probably the same type of conditions currently in the metro area. If we achieve under 5 thousand attending this match, is simply not good enough.
