We must also keep in mind the great efforts of Claremont since 1980; have they played in half the grand finals?

Claremont's full record, note the ascendancy since 1980:

WAFL Premierships: (12 total); 1938, 1939, 1940, 1964, 1981, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1996, 2011, 2012

WAFL Runners-Up: (13 total) 1936, 1937, 1942, 1972, 1982, 1983, 1988, 1990, 1994, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2010

WAFL Minor Premiers: (19 total) 1937, 1939, 1940, 1972, 1979, 1981, 1982, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1994, 2001, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013

WAFL Wooden spoons: (14 total) 1926, 1927, 1928, 1931, 1932, 1933, 1934, 1945, 1946, 1958, 1962, 1963, 1973, 1975

Reserves Premierships:[12] (10 total) 1937, 1977, 1980, 1982, 1987, 1990, 2000, 2010, 2011, 2012

Colts Premierships:[13] (12 total) 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1986, 1988, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2009

Well done indeed. As I have said before on here, in 1987 Claremont were the perfect football side: they imported players to defeat Subiaco and East Fremantle and also had the benefit of winning the colts and reserves premierships in 1986, which, promised well for the club's future.

DD wrote: Hard to comment on era's you didn't witness but I was privileged to grow up witnessing a golden era for Perth in the 70's and had to knock off some mighty opposition in the process. Claremont, SD and SF were the dominant 3 sides in the competition from about 79 to 84,then I think Subiaco ended their drought in 85 or was it 86? Then Claremont had a golden run under Neesham before the Dockers plucked him from the WAFL. Since then Subiaco have dominated* since Peter German kicked them off.

*exploited dominance through a sweet deal with Subiaco Oval. Sorry Subi followers but it's fact.

Sorry mate but this topic is to celebrate great teams and not to have a sook

gtrxuone: Yep, I remember all the SD boys putting their congratulations on the Subi thread after that grand final; it was most appreciated indeed. Some of the EP supporters did so as well, which was very good of them. Actually, I saw very little of that grand final, as I was too nervous to watch the game. Can you believe it?

I have periodical tables for each decade and other periods on my site.. shows win loss records not premierships/finals etc

You can access theses tables from my home page, click Ladders and select 'Periodical Ladders' or by clicking this link.

waflfootyfacts.net/ladderperiods.php

I can add more tables for any other period so if you anyone would like a specific period I am happy to add to that page.

No way..Bob Menzies was in for over 22 years.Tosg.
AR-That was a very good EP side without the alignment players.Do remember you beat them in both home and away games that year 2014.

What Howard lacked in charisma and honesty he made up for with accurate off spin bowling.
