June 18th round of footy shapes as a real defining round with Souths playing Peel at Centrelink park (wonder if the surface will be up to scratch for the princesses), EF v Subi down at Shark Park and WP v Cl at the showgrounds. Apologies to the Perth faithful but these days any game involving WART is of little interest except for most wanting your boys to win.

Would expect WP will continue their stellar winning form but who knows which Cl team will turn up on the day, dangerous outfit if they are all switched on.

Souths v Peel should be a ripper, hopefully Peel don't pull anymore stunts to detract from what should be a high quality contest with nearly everyone wanting a Souths win.

EF v Su is right up there with the Souths game for importance. Only 1 game separates the top 5 teams so if Subi drop another one then EF are in 2nd outright or equal 2nd or top depending on the Souths game.

The downside is that the top 5 are now 3 games clear of the bottom 4 so the race for a finals spot appears pretty much over. But the battle for top spot and the 2 double chance spots are wide open, shame that CL, Perth or Swans don't appear able to dislodge the Peelmantle cheats so we could have a pure WAFL final series.

So much will depend on all teams getting their best 22 on the paddock, WP are getting key players back after a horror injury run, Souths have had a pretty good run with injuries, Subi have a lot of quality on the sidelines at the moment so probably with the most upside and EF also have some key players out so also have plenty of upside for the remaining games.

Yep SS , some great rounds coming up and the tightness of the top 5 creates a sensational second half of the season and of course finals series itself, I think I can say every team in the 5 has a crack at the big one.

Its a great finish for a few reasons.
1. Subi are nowhere near as dominant as many predicted and not as much as last year.
2. Nor the aligned clubs - Last year there were two Aligned clubs in the finals mix, EP appear out of it now with just the dockers.
3. Both Fremantle clubs have had resurgent years, in particular EF , both will be taking part in the Finals at the same time which is always good for the WAFL.

agreed Bazza...having both Freo clubs in finals brings huge upside to the comp in terms of numbers. I'm pretty comfortable where Subi is at given we have 8 or 9 first 22 players on the sidelines at the moment who should all return in the next month or so. WP or should I say Joondy falcons are also hitting form at the right time and will give plenty of cheek come finals time. so all in all it should be a really competitive September. hopefully FART will fall of the pace as the dorker players lose interest heading into the end of the AFL season leaving 4 genuine contenders.

Don't write Claremont off just yet SS, remember they came home with a wet sail last year and snuck in. Obviously they must beat West Perth this week to stay in contention. Who knows if Perth beat East Perth they may be in with some sort of show as well? Still 10 games to go for both but you would have to say they would be relying on one of the teams in the current top 5 to have a bit of a slump.

Yeah I have a feeling The Monts might have a bit more to say, EP are still a mathematical chance, Perth is a big ask!

The top two spot and the double chance are there and up for grabs for 5 clubs.

Yep Subi get players back coming into the business end and you have the wood on us at least anyway, Peel worry me if the dockers who will take no part in September dump a heap into the peel team come August/Sep.

With Fremantle likely to have a heap of players up for trade at the end of the season they may play a pretty full strength peel side come September. De boer and mzungu are very handy wafl players and really strengthen them.
Would love to have de boer back at the tiges next year.
