Growler wrote: Well…. It’s been a while but in the words of the big mouth announcer on UFC…. “HERE WE GO”
In taking this step back from contributing (I will remain an irregular contributor for the remainder of the year for several reasons)I’ve noticed numerous stand outs –

One being SUBI-SUBI-SUBI-SUBI…….the god-like, the impenetrable, the unbeatable ooooops – they lost two games!!

Gosh-Gee-wow… aren’t a number of press/journos kind to the point of self-flagellating – I listened to my first and might I say LAST broadcast of the MONDAY WAFL from our beloved WAFL site benefactors

What a drivel driven shambles of an egotistical show this turned out to be – the Opening topic of this audio spectacle was regards the West Perth Vs Subi game – its seems Subi lost due to the Weather ??– comment:- “oh it was a horrible day and ‘cold’ – I know if it was a sunny day Subi would have romped it in:… REALLY?? and I guess that when West Perth had the ball the sun came out and rainbows & unicorns wizzed the ball down the ground and through the magical WP white sticks…jeeeeez and to all of us Football fans – it’s not supposed to rain in winter and your team has an excuse if they lose, its due to the WEATHER?? Its weelly weelly true!! – it’s what the WAFL insiders think!!!

An additional game where Subi ‘won’, I mistakenly watched the WAFL internet broadcast with John Townsend and that wonderfully expressively challenged womanlike co-compare (thankfully I don’t remember her name)
The ever evenly opinionated Mr T ranted so long about Subi, its players, their wonderful play making and run for the end of year flag the entire show had almost finished before any other team managed a mention. ‘Embarrassing’
Then there was Mr Townshend’s coitus-interruptus column this week in the West re the Subi Vs East Perth game – my god (or a supernatural being for those so inclined) – I don’t give a gaseous flatulence about East Perth but WAS there actually another team on the ground Mr T?
‘Yes’ the Eagles ‘love children’ got spanked so hard every player received incontinence pads after the game, but to be almost discounted entirely in his column was/is an insult, but … of course – it was against Subi??
I have to say that to those Subi supporters who love to exalt in their teams glory, a winners prerogative (actually there is deafening silence when the final scores aren’t so kind) having media coverage like this positions you in the identical league as the magnificently world scorned ‘Collinwood’ those toothless terrors of the eastern state back-hills ..

So to the non-believers , Not all Roads lead to Subi as the particular few seem to feel & spout .. the truths of Subi’s coffers remain an on and on aching carbuncle of a discussion, as elusive as the Golden Fleece, as elusive as the WAFL’s teams supporter attendances of the WAFL games across the board year to date and as elusive as a competent compares at Channel 7 coverage of the WAFL games (when they do cover of course)

Now on Media coverage – One of the best stations I have had the pleasure to listen to of late (via the net) has been HFM 107.3 not only do they ‘not’ preen and pose for the listening audience like the excruciatingly incompetent & embarrassing callers on WAFL Channel 7 live coverage, they are perceptive in their awareness of players, their stats and backgrounds –can hold their own against Sport 91.3 coverage with who we are all aware of and so glad to have for a fair cover of a game not to forget our own combatants at the ABC

The fact that the Channel 7 failures are allowed to drip & squander the coverage of our game is to the detriment of the WAFL league and its supporters - this continues to fall on deaf ears sadly both at the WAFL and at the station called 7.
These guys put up in front of a Perth Audience as our answer to a Cometti, Brownless, Carey, Brereton etc actually assist the bumbling, bewildered, botching, blooper busting Basil ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ look good …. Yes I said it!!

Well done to Perth this last week – Interestingly YOU lost the game WE didn’t win it
Our lack of pressure was so very very evident – we had some shining lights but I dare say it was who wasn’t on the ground that mattered and not just who was – this will show in the weeks to come…

So for those that have hung on to the now end of this written observation of mine ….
Well done and congratulations hahahaha

As much as I endeavour to persist as even-handed, unbiased as possible – I know I’ve opened myself up for probable deride and a deluge of comment hahahaha - bring it ….
Vicious, ill-conceived, malicious barbs will not get a retort from me – so make them if you chose but it’s only YOUR vent if you do
Constructive comment or critiques will I am sure create an interesting discussion full of vigour and hearty content

Love your work Growler, but as a Subi member I for one extoled tne virtues of your beloved Fowlcoons well deserved win over my mob on this very forum, you showed up our vulnerability to intense pressure and our lack of pace. We have in the past been a pretty good wet weather team due to us having a big bodied team but not on this occasion. Our big win against WART should be seen in the context of our opponents being an uncommitted rabble for large parts of the game, as a general observation their listed players just don't play for the jumper which is understandable as they are more interested in individual performance and self protection which must make true EP warriors like Wolffy cry tears of blue and black blood.
