It seems that a few issues were sorted out and that once again all matches will be covered live. The stations involved this year are

ABC TV
ABC 720 am Radio
Radio Fremantle 107.9 FM
Sport FM 91.3
6IX Digital
990 am

Apparently every game every week will be broadcast.
Week 1 - Sat 16 March. ABC tv showing the West Perth game.
Week 2 - Sat 23 March. ABC tv showing EP v PT
Week 3 - Sat 30 March. ABC tv showing Swan Districts v Claremont.

We can only hope abc radio improve their wafl broadcasting? It was very disappointing at times last season not to hear wafl matches not being broadcast.

I hate to say it, but the WAFC probably used their Dockers/Eagles card up their sleeve to entice the ABC TV coverage... :S

Or are the VFL and SANFL also being broadcast?

Mike

Yeah, as far as I know they VFL and SANFL are still being telecast.

I suspect they'll all get ditched at the same time eventually in a decision made from head office.

As far as Channel 10 or a commercial network taking over when the ABC coverage goes, I'll believe it when I see it.

It's also quite significant to see the WAFL back on 6IX like the good old days.

Useful also for our interstate and international WAFL fans with 6IX, ABC Radio, Sport FM and Radio Fremantle all streaming live these days.

Not forgetting that the ABC TV game is uploaded later in the week on the net with ABCiView.

this is just terrific news for wafl. having every game covered by radio is quite phenomenal given this volotile climate we are in.

6IX coming back is a trip down memory lane. that is great news. hope their coverage is as good as it was when F.Sparrow was there. what a first class broadcast that was back in the heydays i remember.

thank goodness the abc tv coverage is still there. cannot understand how people can nit pick them. this coverage is the wafls most prized possession in my eyes. seen some really great games over the years on abc tv .

23rd is interesting....we get the choice of watching the AFL or their reserves. It could be something different watching 2 sleazebuckets playing each other....hope they frisk the players before the start of the game...plenty of backs to be stabbed out there :S

Mate, wouldn't it be great if 6IX brought back some great old timers like Percy Johnson and co. to do some commentary.

Nothing against the young up and coming callers on Sport FM, Radio Fremantle etc...but bringing in a few veterans on just one station would be very entertaining and a nice alternative.

No hope with Percy, he is busy as our ruck coach again
