Just read whereby the so called commission has a new head honcho. Someone by the name Gavin Taylor. Wonder if that is the one and same who's the general manager of Subiaco Oval?

Is where the story is.

Care factor: ABSOLUTE ZERO

Why because he will show the same and constant indifference to the WAFL competition as his predecessor. If he was interested in the WAFL his first decision would be to announce that as at the end of the 2016 season the host club would be scrapped.

If you want proof here are his quotes form the article (in case you missed it I have highlight his comments relevant to the WWAFL competition).

Taylor said that he was pleased to be leading the WAFC during a period that would set the future direction for the sport through new funding structures; establishing a new home; extending local broadcast arrangements; ensuring WA is competitive in national competitions; and continuing strong growth in areas such as Auskick, women’s competitions and multicultural participation.

“I believe that Football is an essential part of the fabric of our community and we have huge opportunities to involve more people in the game and make an even greater contribution to Western Australia. I look forward to working in partnership with all WA Football stakeholders to ensure that football remains healthy both on and off the field and to provide a sustainable future for this great game,” said Mr Taylor.

Was this not the same bloke who was in charge of running the WAFC off shoot Perth Stadium Management that failed so dismally in gaining the management rights for the new stadium at Burswood it was even over looked for the back up position now putting into jeopardy the funding for WA football ongoing?

The self same one: one has to wonder how much weighting the inability to secure the management rights to the new stadium those who were charged with appointing G Walton's (he who wanted to keep his views unknown to the WAFL supporters) replacement gave to the decision to appoint Taylor.

It would also be interesting to know exactly how much money was spent on the failed bid.

I heard this nong speak at the West Perth Presidents lunch a few weeks back in his Acting CEO capacity. Gave the same spiel in his appointment speech about expanding the brand to more women, kids, multiculturalists, gramps, grannies etc etc. It was all the usual corporate-babble that is meaningless. Football must be one of those rare industries where the sick, lame and incompetent come to get a job. We all know the WAFC is the hand puppet of the two AFL clubs and it is now completely irrelevant (in fact hostile) to the real WAFL clubs so I propose the solution: sell the two WA club licences to the AFL which they've been after for yonks, divest from the AFL and disband the WAFC because it won't be needed anymore, boot out WART and FART and set the WAFL on an independent course with the $150m I reckon they'd get for the two licences (and that's my calculation based on their current assets not what they might be worth in the future). That's the only course of action left because this gimp they've appointed aint going to do the WAFL any favours I can give you the tip. He's already got McHenry's hand up his koit as acutely captured by The West's photographer.
