I don't know about everyone else but the first few weeks of the season have given me hope that this year will be a lot more of a battle for the flag and finals spots. I realise its really early and a lot of things can happen over a season with injuries etc but the apparent improvement of teams like East Fremantle, South Fremantle and Perth indicates that there should be a lot more pressure on Subiaco who dominated the competition last year. Of course the Lions are still favourites because they are a proven team and have the runs on the board. West Perth will be thereabouts at the end of the year due to their solid midfield. The two alignment teams will be in the mix (how could they not be given their player group). Tigers have got a good mix of youth and experience and they will be up challenging for top 5 spots.

That just leaves my team which has been drastically off the pace so far but I am hanging on to the thought that Claremont lost their first 5 games of 2015 and still made the finals. At the very least I am hoping that Swans can be a lot more competitive than they have been in the first 3 weeks of the season.

I think this is a season that all WAFL supporters will enjoy as I believe that it will be a bunfight for spots in the finals until late in the season. My tip for top 5

Subiaco
South
Peel
West Perth
East Perth

With Tigers, Sharks and Demons nipping at the heels for a top 5 spot. Wouldn't surprise if any one of them snuck in.

Grassy I have lived in the Perth FC area for a number of years and I can walk to Lathlain on days when I feel energetic  . So I would certainly claim Perth as my number 2 team and I barrack for them when they are playing anyone but Swans.

If Swans are not going to make the top 5 (and I have not given up hope as yet) I will be gunning all the way for the Dees.

I think we can put a line through West Perth and East Perth already. I will also be surprised if Peel hang on once the "Whips are cracking" at Fremantle. Thus for me
Subi
South
East Freo
Perth
Claremont

This would see a nice Perth home final and a crowd of 5000.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!
