Yep give it a little while longer, but I dont think they will intro new teams, two clubs will be absorbed and taken as full reserves teams, name change the lot.

Peel will be one, no prizes who will be the other.

One thing we can be certain of is , things never stay the same grassy there is nothing more certain than change.

I reckon SF and EF days are numbered in the next 20 years they will probably merge to survive.

If Someone told me 35 years ago that West Perth would be based in Joondalup, the WAFL would be played in front of family and friends, a national comp would be formed with only the VIC clubs in it and composite sides everywhere else then I would of laughed them out of town.

Things change Grassy like it or not, by the time a possible East and South Freo could merge then all the die hards will be long gone.

So much has changed in the last 35 years and it will continue to change, not sure if you have noticed but none of us are asked if we want the change it is just forced upon us.

Sad but reality

Nothing stays the same forever mate, sad but thats the way it goes, in a decade or two the old guard will be well and truly gone and the link with the glory days of the past a distant memory with 2 or 3 generations of dockers fanatics guiding the SHIP!

Spot on GWS !

I am the same , I have now been a financial member of SFFC for 30 yrs continuous this year, no idea how much I have handed over to the club, in dues, raffles, donations , gate fees, et al, but a lot, of course I was keen supporter long before that going along for about 40-50 yrs, As you rightly say if someone had said to me in 1979 - mate there will be a team in Fremantle called the dockers, they will wear purple and play in the VFL, the average crowd at a South game will be 1600 and the GF will attract 13,000 , I would of directed them to Graylands, A bit like if someone had walked up to me at a pub in freo and said hey mate, did you know two blokes could marry each other! they would of probably got punched out by a warfie.

Times change and a lot has changed in the 40 odd years I have been involved in WANFL / WAFL.

As GWS says, in 20 yrs the last of the glory days fans will be a faded memory and the AFL will dominate the scene. All that will be left will be a lean pathway for survival in some form.

Greatwhiteshark -- I hear you don't worry; The answer to the question is that it is difficult to get players to try 100 per cent 100 per cent of the time, even at the other clubs. EP has the added problem of some of the Eagles players not being up to league football. It is part of life under the alignment, one that has seen them make plenty of money and be more than competitive on the field. Things should improve as the season goes on.

Ahaha what a joke!! East Perth were supposedly supposed to be broke 2 years ago and that nothing but an alignment would save them! What a crock of shit, you are no better than Ca$hiaco.
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!
