Not sure the Subi WP game should be changed to a night game, do we really want the Subi and WP boys out and about in Leederville at night?

hahaha...it makes pefect sense to me outer...once hostilities finish on the field the jerkers can don their flares and paisley shirts while the subi boys into their Armani suits, straight to the HipE club and into it. mind you the jerkers may as well change their footy boots for runners so they can make a strategic exit when the going gets a bit tough in the club.

I rang the club yesterday asking if there was going to be a time change due to the extreme conditions and was told no, the WAFC have instigated their heat policy of more interchange and longer breaks. Sounds like it's a WAFC edict not the clubs.

Forecast is now for 37 with the chance of an afternoon storm, so could be sweltering humidity which is worse than dry heat, hopefully that storm comes in early and cools things off. Just makes no sense when somewhere like Leederville with lights cant have it as a night game.

With news that footy will return to the WACA then maybe they play all games under lights next year, shorten the format, double and triple headers, some TV coverage. Colts and ressies can play early in the day at their respective grounds
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

SD two things about the WACA:

(i) is it going to be a 14 a side match?
(ii) this week end, and presumably similarly next year, there is a Sheffield Shield match at the WACA

I assume your first point is in regards to the length of the WACA, obviously they will need to lengthen it if they go ahead with it as a footy oval. Last time I was there was for the BBL semi-final and there is little or no existing infrastructure at the east and west ends just grass banks and a temp stand, so should be quite simple to extend the playing surface to something like 160m which I would think would be an appropriate length.

The ground can be lengthened easily from what I heard, Not sure about how they will juggle both sports but shouldnt be a big deal, I cant wait for the WACA to host footy again I liked it as a venue

SD you won't have a problem if say two home games that would normally be played at Basso are played at the WACA ground instead?
