Wouldn't be too upset to see the Eagles take him with one of their tail end picks. Listening to his interview on the sports show yesterday, he is so dead keen to go around again and said he'll give everything he possibly can. He may only have 1 or 2 more seasons in him, but I reckon he won't leave anything on the field at the end of every game. I think Freo flicked him 1 season too soon. How good would it be...Crowley tagging Fyfe or maybe Bennell :woohoo:

Mate , I reckon they did the right thing flicking him, he would be battling to keep up with pace of the game, the high profile tagger thing has faded from the game, one of the battling clubs might pick him up but to be honest I reckon he is Subi bound.the games past him by.

I have to disagree Bazza. IMHO the day of the tagger may have a whole new meaning from next season with the cap on interchanges being reduced and,I believe, will be reduced further in 2017.
What this will mean is that the game will slow down and tagging will once again become a more common tactic.

Crowley is a left over from the negative grinding Paul Roos era, Lyon needs to get away from that if they want to get with the current attacking higher scoring game, it wont get slower, players will get fitter, and Crowley is past it by miles.

Agreed! Anyone who thinks a fit Crowley would have all of a sudden made them winners is dreaming..that style of footy has been unsuccessful this decade and is dead and buried thankfully and thanks to the mighty Hawks
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

And let's not forget that Crowley ain't going to be able to use the BANNED ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE to help him recover from games anymore! That's going to hinder him further. I don't understand why Lyon didn't make him pack his bags straight away when he was busted.

I still think there's a place for a tagger in certain circumstances....for instance, why would Simpson let Sam Mitchell run around and get 35 touches in the GF? probably because he didn't have an effective run with type player such as Crowley in the team. would it have changed the outcome? probably not... but I reckon it would have been a whole lot closer without Mitchell setting up forward entries without much opposition.

The WAFL will retain its new top-five finals system for the 2016 season. :(
General manager Hargrave believed a five-team finals series played over four weekends would work excellently next year.

“We were rapt with the way the final five worked last season,’’ Hargrave said. “The build-up to the last couple of games, having the final five just kept that interest going.’’
Talk of a historic night WAFL Grand Final have been scrapped, with next year’s decider locked in as a day game on Sunday, September 25
After last seasons inept stupid bungling debacle, West Perth will feature at least twice, and potentially three times, in the television schedule.

The WAFC have NFI !!
the final 5 has been unanimously bagged, they have refused to look at any innovative or creative marketing of the game or finals in particular like sunset or night finals, how much better for the punters and the teams if this years GF had been played in cooler night conditions rather than the scorcher day game, it would have made a better spectacle and WP would have run the game out better perhaps.
And no mention yet of moving finals to the WACA. I understand the WACA members have voted and have not objected so hopefully we'll see the oval reshaped and finals footy at the WACA and at night!!.

SS with all due respect what a load of rubbish. So it was too hot at this year's GF and it was too wet last year. Is Goldilockss calling? For those advocating a move to the WACA for the WAFL GF why are we accepting that 12,000 people, which includes the WACA members, is the limit? Do we really think that it is appropriate to limit the general admittance at the WAFL GF to about 6,000 - 8,000. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. Perhaps if we address the fundamental problems of the host club alignment and Subiaco's financial dominance of the WAFL competition then people might actually return to the WAFL competition and the GF specifically.
