Of course something has to give. This ridiculous debacle has been on-going too long. It sounds like these 'tense' negotiations have resolved very little? On Wednesday West Perth will be responding to whatever position has been put toward them. Hopefully at seasons end, the telecaster get's the flick and certain peoples heads start rolling!

WAG it is hardly surprising that it hasn't been resolved. Exactly what has the WAFC done to try to resolve the situation? Apart from hiding behind the West's one-sided reporting of the situation, I suspect that then answer to my question is exactly nothing. They just think or hope that somehow West Perth and Channel 9 will suddenly come to the rescue of the WAFC. Why should they when it is entirely the fault of the WAFC that we are in this position. From what I have seen of the Channel 7 telecasts one would have needed perfect vision to have spotted the Channel 9 logo on the West Perth jumpers.

re: The only problem is who watches the watchers to coin a phrase. The WA government could step in but half of them wouldnt know what a football looks like and I really think they are staying away from the whole issue... TO HARD BASKET.

Exactly right. Have noticed the premier (whom usually has an opinion about most things) has been strangely quiet on this issue!? Wonder if he would be motivated if Claremont were banned? Everyone was told that ALL Wafl grounds would be covered by the telecasts. What hasn't been said is more important than what has been said!
And everyone could start playing a game called, Where's the sports minister? Obviously never around when you need one.

A point bought out by another poster... WP games are shown as being played at HBF
Arena.. HBF is a sponser of Venues West who run the oval YET MEDIBANK has naming rights at Leederville oval.
So we have a WA Govt organisation having a Health fund as a major sponser at Joondalup and and another venue and Medibank sponser at our home of excellance

Bugger does this mean all the HBF signs would have to come down if WP does eventually get a TV game at Joondalup.

Fun isnt it? :) :) :) :) :) :)

Just saying LOL

Bet you could find a couple more conflicts if you looked at all club and oval sponsers?
Bloody ridiculous.. So much for competition and Fair Trading.

Pfftt, fear what ???

We stand to lose a minimum of $300k and ongoing sponsorship from CH9, no brainer Astro. The Falcons have done nothing wrong, the WAFC have mounted the whole situation and they will cop the brunt of it :P

Would be interesting to be a fly on the wall at that WP board meeting tonight. Could get a bit tense when the WAFC guys walk in!
