Well some common sense is prevailing , the state government is wanting the WAFL to decide on its future location with a shared football/cricket facility at the WACA.

Funds will be provided for remodelling of the ground once the commitment is made. Sounds like a great idea to me, and the WACA would be an ideal smaller boutique stadium once the playing area is enlarged slightly.

So what WAFL matches are going to be played there Bazza? How about another 40 metres extra in length required?

What is going on with you lately Swan, ? chewing negative pills a lot it seems, Mate did you read the post before you fired off the round? FUNDS PROVIDED for REMODELLING, yes the oval will be enlarged,

I imagine finals and the GF. Maybe some EP games as well.

Bazza I understood you said that the ground was going to be made bigger. I wouldn't have a problem if the GF was played at the expanded WACA. I would have a very significant problem if the WAFC in cahoots with Channel 7 FORCED a game to be played at the WACA every week.

To answer about the negative pills I am thoroughly disgusted with Messrs Walton, McHenry et al who make patently outrageous comments about the host club alignment and the POSITIVE impact on the WAFL competition when anyone who has any understanding of the impact the host club alignment knows that demonstrably the opposite is true.

The silly thing is all of us who actually follow the WAFL know what a stuff up the alignment is as we've witnessed it 1st hand. Only problem is the majority of the public who don't go to games or follow the WAFL closely only believe what these gooses say and spin to the media !!!

Then I wonder what happens when the cricket start playing at the new stadium? Will the Wafl be the only tenant at the Waca? Or will the cricket still be headquartered there? I hear the state government tells everyone funds will be made available for works. That is what they say today, but will they the same further down the track? No doubt there is need to renovate the waca because of it's age.
Subiaco Oval will be given the flick altogether in a few years time. I believe still plenty of easy parking at the Waca and not too far walking from the city.

Good news Bazza.. Loved watching Footy at the WACA.. Great place to watch a game.
Good lighting as well for night games,. and smaller that that monolith called Subiaco oval.
Lots of considerations. but has prove it can be done.
Don might not be for it as Subi wouldnt have the big money input with no bar there that is bringing in huge amounts of money.

I heard from a person who would be in the know that the WAFL/WAFC were moving to Fremantle once it is redeveloped for SF and EF..
Lots of money being spent there all with the blessing of the Freo council.
The oval will be closed down for 12 months because of the development. SF will play home games at EF oval for the time it takes.
They are even moving the oval at SF slightly to make way for development. Not a huge amount but enough to fit in the Buildings etc. The trees will remain. :)
This message represents the official view of the voices in my head

WAG I really hope that only International one dayers and 20/20's plus the Big Bash would be played at the stadium. I would really like test and shield games to stay at the WACA because of the bouncy pitch.

Thanks swan for explaining the negative vibes, yep i can understand your feelings about Walton and Co, its clearly PR tripe, these AFL suckholes have no concern for WAFL.

Personally I would not mind a game at the WACA every week.
