Last year the AFL distributed 216 million to the 18 clubs, only 6 of which made a reasonable level of profit. What a shame they wont give say just 1 of those 216 million to a grassroots feeder system like the WAFL.It's a bloody disgrace. If each of the G7 clubs split 1000050,they would each have 150000 to help put together a league, ressies and colts team as well as development teams, many of which eventually feed the AFL monster. The USA must laugh at how the AFL looks after it's feeder systems, given the way they look after and resource their feeder systems in both basketball and baseball.Shame,shame,shame.

Further to this mate , the AFL should ensure that $50 000.00 goes directly to the local clubs in Australia that provide their cannon fodder in the National Meat Market Draft each year
The current re-imbursement that is dished out by the WAFC (less their theft imposed)is just an insult
The AFL should pay that fee direct to the club a player is drafted from without interference - and this should be done automatically via direct debit

Agreed Southerner. Maybe some of these proceeds could come from cutbacks in exorbitant wages paid out at the top end of the WAFC.

It is unequivocal that the WAFC do an outstanding job running the WAFL competition; all their decisions, are for the good of WA Football. Decisions such as the reduction of money to WAFL clubs for AFL drafted players; the banning of West Perth from Channel 7's telecasts etc etc, are the best for WA football. How can anyone question the benefit to the WAFL clubs and the competition of the examples above.

I await with much anticipation the announcement by the WAFC that henceforth there will be no publishing of West Perth's fixtures, scores or stories in The West Australian following West Perth's announcement that The Sunday Times is now a sponsor of West Perth.
